applications haven't been open for 2 years now and the project seems to be dead lmao

well, for specifics, seems EN specifically is dead. which is a shame because that was the original project.
BR is still alive, RO is still alive, ES is still alive with posts by an international leader.

i was happy when i handed the reigns to shamousey because i felt the team was in good hands between him and ratacp. i understand that both are staff, but if they don't have time for it, they need to step down -- much like i did when i moved because i knew i would have no time to handle it.
there isn't even a thread for them on anvil god, their supposed home, and i wonder if anything is even going on behind the scenes.
had i know EN was going to die like this, i would have just stayed and taken what little free time i had and applied it to bringing the project back..
but now the helpers look like a joke in EN because they don't serve any purpose. they're barely even around because quite a few users in the team are no longer active in game.

so yeah. sorry if i sound salty but i think i have the right to be considering a team i led for three years has died simply due to a lack of care.

I agree with this entirely. It's been a year since I sent a message asking about this, and it's a damn shame that no one is actually around to help anymore, despite there being a lot of interest within this community. Whilst I am well aware that Shamousey and co are busy now because they're staff, maybe it really is time to hand down the leadership to someone who's actually interested in getting more people to help.

You made a wonderful idea come to life, and it worked for a while! But now we need more helpers, and I know plenty of others who would be interested in helping out too, including myself.

EN Helper applications are open!

After a long time without applications being open, we're looking for new members of the helper team that are passionate and informed about Atelier 801 games to help share their knowledge with the community. If this sounds like something you're interested in, please fill out the questions below in a PM to myself and Jordynl.

Leaders and subleaders are just what it says on the tin - people designated to have good leadership skills who can motivate the members of the team, organise them together to achieve different goals we have for the team, and to be a point of contact if someone has concerns about any member of the team for whatever reasons.

Even though the majority of the questions are the same, the two positions are not fundamentally the same. A helper needs to be knowledgeable about the game(s), while leaders need to be good at managing other people.

did you at least seek out suitable candidates within the team first
because NEVER in the history of this team has subleader been open to regular users and honestly I find it unfair to the team members who have stayed loyal all these years to the team.

Knowing Liam, I'll bet that he didn't just skip over the Helpers to open applications to everyone. He already expressed that it's to get even more fresh eyes looking at the team and how it could be improved. I would think qualifications are more important than loyalty with the direction the Helpers are heading now. At least, that's what I think from when I left. Technically I have access to their forum on AnvilGod because Liam never removed my role lol

i mean, that makes sense, but i find it unfair to just toss someone new in who doesnt know how the team works or potentially nobody on it into a leadership role. if you toss me a list of current helpers i am sure i can pick two or three who are very suited for the subleader position.
that's why i was always so keen on hiring from within for subleader. there was one helper who had applied for subleader who was causing drama in the chat. they had a great app, but i wouldn't have known about that dramatic side of them if we hadn't hired from within.

that's just my two cents. i know i'm not a part of the team anymore but i'd like to think i have the right to share my opinion on this as an ex-member of the team and as someone who has watched it since the beginning.
