Walljump was actually a glitch/bug but it got popular and the admins decided not to remove it. |

Not trying to rekindle old flames here, but I would just like to say there's a difference between constructive criticism and criticism. The best way to offer constructive criticism (i.e. the only kind you should ever dish out) is to sandwich it. Nice, criticize, nice. Example, I loved the Christmas event. It was a really cool idea to have the advent calendar. Maybe next time to make it even better, the admins could better plan the gifts they gave out so to avoid issues like the fur issue that got everyone so mad. But, considering they've only had a few Christmas events and have such little staff, I think they did an excellent job with what they had to work with. If you just flat out say "Fuck the Christmas event, the admins are so stupid, what the hell is Tig's problem, wow Tig get off your ass and fix the glitches" and so on, your criticisms 1. aren't going to be taken seriously and 2. are going to come across as just that, criticims, not CONSTRUCTIVE criticisms. No one responds to rude criticism well. Now, I realize the original poster was very polite and constructive in his/her criticisms. But most people tend not to be. I also think that Lagia had valid points and was certainly not deserving of the insults slung at him, especially from staff who are supposed to act professional. I also feel that the bug and glitch issues should be addressed. The admins have been working to get the fraises system out, then all of the events and new shop items and what have you so their attention has been focused elsewhere. I hope everyone understands that planning out an event then drawing it, coding it and implementing it does not happen overnight. HOWEVER, I personally feel that their priorities are a little mixed up. I, for one, would be happy if there was no new content for a month and it meant that bombs didn't lag, the carts on vanilla maps were fixed, the dual-sham spawn glitch was fixed, etc. The thing is, we can't expect both new content and behind-the-scenes content (bug fixing) to happen quickly and at the same time. One has to take priority. It feels like the admins have been prioritizing content, which I believe is a mistake. Then again, they rarely release any information about what they're doing anymore. I think it would be beneficial for them to, say, once a week or once every two weeks, post a paragraph summarizing what they've accomplished in that time, what their plans are for next week, what their plans are for the near future, and so on. |

I guess I'll give a short review on transformice aswell (update wise). The frequency of the updates are reasonable for a game with a community this big. Only know a few games that have updates more frequent, but they all don't have the size of tfm. Considering this, maintainance and keeping the game playable takes time and effort, so ofcourse most time would be spend into this. And that all would delay gamechanging updates. One thing I think Atelier is doing pretty well is the Event, it's in such system that it pulls back people that don't play too often and encourages them to play again. With new gameplay aspects. The thing I personally find lacking is these gameplay/gamechanging updates should be applied in a long term fashion. Lets take for example the scripting code/scenary code for maps. This was in Tigrounettes Boat map. Basically this allows you to add events/timed based/different textures/sizes and change the map physics completely. If these were simplified it would make for a lot of very interesting maps. And ofcourse fun to play. Also we had the new MOB AI system with the heart based. This could be changed into a survival sort minigame. Lets just say, last man standing, and snowball fights with hearts. Together with the vampire survival and the normal survivor I guess It could be pretty interesting. But ofcourse with mapmaker good things have been added, and simple easy ways to do it with glitches were removed. Sadly though, but if you look at it in a developers perspective, the game got fixed. And new ways to do certain things have been applied. The only thing lacking at the moment is the availability of these new features. With that I mean it is rather complicated to use these features, and confuses a lot of players. Even with tutorials, guides and all that sort it is still hard for a lot of players. Earlier this year ofcourse the fur colours and fraises were added, which was a good thing because that meant income for the Atelier staff. Which in terms could result into better servers, and more staff. And this was the case. Although sadly in my opinion they started working on a new game and spending time and money on that, although if you think about it, it is probably smarter to work on multiple games to decrease risk of loosing it all when something goes wrong. But eitherway developement on transformice continued so that was all fine. Than last thing I really enjoyed but disliked aswell, is the more map categories. I enjoyed it because, it gave more variety and showed more of certain maps you would have never seen before. The only flaw with this though. Is overplaying certain maps. Some maps don't have too much replay value, but are still very good. Also due to a problem with the rotation randomiser, usually the same few maps play over and over although for every category there are 100+ maps to pick from. And also there is a heavy disbalance between the rotation order itself The rotation order itself basically means every category plays just as much except mechanism they play a bit more. Well usually mechanism maps don't have too much replay value, but some do ofcourse. Personally I would love to see the map categories split up into new groups. Examples for this are no-shaman mechanism, racing, hard racing, and all sorts of new perm categories. But then you probably think well for example hard racing wouldn't it be too hard for the mice? Well if you balance the the rotation for example, let shaman maps play more than racing, normal racing more, and allow smaller chances for more difficult challenges. But that I just a suggestion. In general this year was pretty good for Atelier, they got started on their new game. More staff. Set up systems for things, new forum (which still lacks alot of things). But the community? Well like I always said before, community takes alot of maintainance. And this is probably 1 of the things which is absolutely flawed at the moment. So one thing I am absolutely disapointed with is the community management, and I hope this will improve in the (near) future. |

I would like to see "hard racing" incorporated into rotation. Games aren't made to spoonfeed you; some players can't pass certain levels and that gives them something to get better and work towards. Of course just going off that fragment of Impure's post. I have nothing to say as far as "reviews" go. Unless you consider this minor detail a review addressing the lack of challenge offered by standard rotation. |

...I don't want to say anything on the arguments happening here. My feelings are way too mixed up to say anything. I will put in my 5 cents about the forums. Italic, bold, colors, and various font sizes have been available to mods, admins, and sents since the beginning of these new forums. So why haven't they been given to the users? Why? If you can't make some fancy interface like the one on vBulletin, at least allow us to use HTML. It's clear that these features, incredibly basic ones which almost all forums have, have been ready since the beginning (the KWL thread, made by a mod on the first week of the flash forums, has special formatting since it was first made). What are they waiting for? |

Maraoone a dit : +1 for this. Making pictures for titles is pretty bothersome when you know a mod can just resize it. What's the point in giving us the ability to color if we can't use underline, bold, italics etc. |

This thread makes me want to say "why so serious?" >.> I can understand if you like this game or if you don't, but to go about and insult it is just...wow... Anyways, time for my review :D I enjoy the game, especially because I met almost all of my besties here, and I really love every event that they have. There's really only one thing that bugs me: the community. As alot of people have probably already said, the community is just damnright rude, you could do the smallest little thing and BOOM you got all sorts of insults thrown at you, and all sorts of people ganging up on you, and if none of you're friends are online or no one gives ten sh*ts, then you're all on your own >.< Thats really the only thing that bugs me though, the rest I really enjoy, and I hope the admins continue to make the game better and better :D |
