So here is my question: Why give people false hope applying for a moderation position on Transformice.com when we're all aware the whole system is favouritism and if you have no friends on the moderation team beforehand you stand no chance?

Also why as a whole is the moderation system flawed? Flawed in the sense that moderators do not accept screenshots. But when you confront them in a situation to be unbanned, they can claim to have evidence(screenshots) of you doing something; and base their decision on that. Alongside this why are moderators inactive? Seems to me like the purpose of being a mod is to help your community and make changes. But how I see it, is that people apply as a symbol of status and power and do near enough nothing to help anyone. Being friends and moderators helping their friends to become mod is the only helping hand here.

There is no system of favouritism in the moderation team. Yes sometimes people may already know a staff member but that means nothing. All possible applicants are looked into, their in game behaviour is followed among various other things. The vast majority of applicants who were hired within the last few years knew neither each other or any of the current staff members at the time. The idea of there being favouritism is simply a myth used by people who don't accept not getting hired.

In terms of mods not accepting screenshots, that isn't down to them. They don't make the decisions as to whether they can accept screenshots, that was a rule put in place as they can be easily edited. The only time they may be considered is in particularly severe cases but the vast majority of the time they cannot be accepted at all.

Mods are constantly helping people and a lot of people seem to forget several things. Just because a mod doesn't reply to a whisper that doesn't mean they haven't seen it. Mods get a lot of whispers, and that's putting it lightly. They simply don't have time to reply to every single one but they will try to look into it if they can. Also, mods are volunteers, which seems to be very much overlooked pretty much all the time. Yes they applied because they want to help but from time to time they will want to actually play the game and see their own friends.

In short, favouritism to be hired is a myth, mods physically cannot accept screenshots as evidence and they are pretty much constantly helping people, you just fail to realise it.
