I would like to support, but some people come back after a year believe it or not. Maybe a way to reclaim the account though is to put the password to your old account? Your data would be brought back for the original. The one currently being used for that user name would be asked to enter a new name OR put the grabs username and then a "~" after it and their character data would be saved. Sorry if it seems funky but I do agree with the 1 year and it goes sort of thing. There would be a public thing to tell if the user name is available and it would be up for grabs till then.

/support AS LONG AS there are more protections in place, I remember I was forced to leave my favorite site for a year because of personal issues, but I did come back. If the same thing were to happen on TFM, I would be devastated if the username I love and everyone knows me by were to get taken up by some stranger.

As another person suggested, inform the person by email, make the time longer, ect.

my sister plays this game, i havent looked on her profile but she played it since 2010 idk, i remember seeing some mouse game she was playing in that time period

Complicated. On the one hand, it's hard for me to support this because I took a two-year hiatus. Pretty sure I didn't ever intend to come back because wow, this game is chock full of really unfortunate and uncomfortable behavior. Still, two years after I quit I was back and delighted to have my old account.
I think some excellent points have been brought up, such as impersonation. That's a problem, even after a long period of time. However, it is ridiculous to have all these alts swimming around that never get used. I agree that any account with less than 100 cheese that's been inactive for a year should be deleted, though I also agree with the idea of consenting via an email address that you have to connect to your account. The problem with such a plan being that, particularly among young teens, email addresses are always changing. Get tired of your email? Get a new one. If you can't find a person on transformice, there's every chance you won't be able to contact them via the email address that they provided.

Maybe ALL your stats, cheese, titles go to the account that your name is changed, if this can be done, then /support.
Or if not, just get like 10 fraisies and you're fine.

I don't think this would be a significant problem.

• People get less famous if they go inactive for longer periods. Who remembers Artkiller nowadays?
• Users should have to accept to discard their username so that someone else may use it. In that sense stealing will not be an issue.
• If a name does get taken over, the registration date and in game statistics, items and shop cheese would be reset. If they still were famous, they wouldn't remain so for long.

Some people that play TFM could be in college, and can't go on, because they have to study. Or someone could be at the hospital, because of a disease or whatever.

Though, it is quite a good idea.

but maybe make the time like2.5 years... One years is a little short, but TFM does need to do some cleaning, because with these super complex names, its harder for new members to remember their names.... Also, what happens to the accounts of banned names?
