The main problem with the S plank is that it doesn't just fit anything that easily: generally you need to use it when there are complex, rather irregular parts in the map that S plank could fit. However, there are some simpler and more common cases in which you could make a good use of it, no matter what mode you are using.

• First of all, you can use it when there is a gap between two close aligned grounds: if the gap doesn't exceed around 45 px, you can jam the S plank between both grounds, in two ways showed in the spoiler below.

If the gap is rather small (~ 10px), you can proceed as showed above (it'll be a bit laggy, but it works).


However, if the gap is bigger, you can put it this way as showed above.

• The second possible case is when there are very thin grounds. If their width doesn't exceed 20 px, the S plank will be able to fit them correctly without being pushed aside. Here's an example below in the spoiler:

Nevertheless, the S plank remains an unused skill due to it not fitting most of times, and when map doesn't show any opportunity that would allow to use it, you'll just have to be honest and assume it's quite useless.

I don't think there is such an option. Your only chance, if I'm not mistaken, is to play with the fullscreen option. However, if you right-click while playing on a navigator, you'll see an option called "Quality", from there you can check either "low-medium-high" like you mentioned. But again, that feature isn't available on Standalone.
