Yes..... Transformice is only intended for females.. Men, you are not allowed. Be banished to the depths of misogyny hell. You foolish male creatures, you may not have entrance to this game of rats. |

TFM isn't strictly a girls game though. It's unisex. I think the only reason why it shows "her" during shaman rounds because "canonically"(?) shamans are meant to be girls. Like, if there was rat village and the shaman was elected or something, then it'd have to be a girl. d-does this make any sense |

No, TFM is for both genders. I don't think it looks like a girl game to me (considering i am a girl), but then again it doesn't look like a boy game either. |

Of course, maybe TFM could try check the present Shaman's gender so it is more specific by saying "him" or "her", but WAY too many people start to think that female characters are somehow more significant than the males. But, as many people stated already, in French items or creatures have a gender - like in my country (Russia). FOR EXAMPLE, a chair is a he, a bench is a she, etc; the ending letters of the word might also determine the gender of the item/noun. In this case, a mouse is a "she". So shut up. As I said, half the comment section already knew that mouse is female. TFM doesn't assume your gender. As I said - female players aren't anymore significant than male players are. |

If it was a game for girls only then there shouldn't be a male gender option though. Oh and nice explanation Pianoskymuse. |

I don't see why males wouldn't be able to play. The whole french language part that people are talking about makes sense actually. I just assumed it was because Elisah is female, so shamans being default female in terms of lore would be normal? It doesn't actually make an immense amount of sense but it made sense in my head so.. Elisah = Goddess, elevated deity. So shamans = In lore most commonly female. This isn't to say buck mice don't become shamans ever, but a doe is just a bit more likely to become one. Shamans in the game just need enough points, whilst in terms of worldbuilding they are specially trained over years by mentors as apprentices, much like real world equivalents. Females simply happen to be the majority of these shamans, but males are not ridiculed should they choose to be a shaman. Okay so that got way off topic but it's just a headcanon I wanted to share. It's a dumb thing to come up with, sorry. Note none of that is confirmed, I just came up with it. Either way I don't see why there needs to be a set gender who can play this game.
