Chapter 13
A second look

Foxie and Terbian were now laughing together in unison. Nothing could have stopped them from doing so.
The group had been arguing for about 45 minutes about Terbian's affection for Foxie, Shard had given up, it was painful for others to even consider that Terbian had an affection for the one he had set his heart on, he wasn't going to give up, Shard didn't believe the rumor was true.
All of a sudden, the arguing was silenced by the noise of Foxie re-appearing, her face was flushed. She looked up, looking tired and weak.
Shard ran over to her, picking her limp body up, she could barely move, "Oh, Foxie, you need some rest, we gotta get out this sewer!", Shard whimpered.
Foxie opened one eye, "That won't be necessary..." Shard's eyes widened, "Wh-What do you mean?". Foxie released herself from his arms.
"I've considered my power, and I see it's not strong enough... so I'm going to collect it...", Foxie sniggered at her own words. Luna was caught in confusion.
"Oh? Where are you going to get more exactly?", Luna questioned. Foxie smiled deviously, "From other mice... starting with you lot..."
At that, she levitated them and drained their hidden power that Terbian had spoken of, all of their power was drained, but she had left one mouse. Shard.
She walked up to Shard, his face was drowned in sorrow and despair, his head turned away from Foxie and down at the others, they had turned grey, no color to be found.
All she could mutter was, "I'm sorry, but this is what I need to do...", and at that, Shard's power was drained. He fell to the floor, his color fading.
Foxie walked slowly through the limp mice bodies, she took one look back, but as hard as it was, she continued, aiming for the city.
Terbian was also draining the power of several mice, but he had consumed a lot more than Foxie, and his purple hair began to flow with power.
Foxie shouted up, "Hey dude! Nice hair-do, but save some of these guys for me as well!" Terbian floated down, "Can't you just fly up there?"
She looked back at the wings, she had barely used them, "I actually forgot about these..." Terbian slapped her, "Stupid girl! Use your fucking wings!"
Foxie squinted, "If you want my help, you better start treating me better, bastard..." Terbian growled then flew to another location to drain more power.
After a while, Foxie had drained most of the citizens of the city and her hair was now flowing with power as well. She located Terbian and teleported to him.
Terbian had become so powerful, he had grown twice the size and Foxie had to fly up to his face to talk to him, however, he had no intention of small talk.
He levitated Foxie and tried to drain her power, but she was able to get away, back to the sewer, to find her friends. She ran down the sewer, tears streaming down her face.
When she got there, the group had already fled from the sewer, she managed to sense them and teleport to them.
She tried to approach them, but Skylar pulled out a pistol, Luna picked out one of her sharp horns, Cream aimed her chicken at her and Abrielle just hid behind her umbrella.
Foxie backed away as they cornered her with their weapons, Skylar shot a bullet, but to her surprise, Shard had leapt in front, and took the bullet himself.

Chapter 14
Saving more than a friend

The gunshot was echoed throughout the entire city as the bullet travelled through Shard. He fell to the floor, bleeding heavily.
Foxie immediately picked him up and flew up so fast, a boom was created from where she took off. She flew high into the sky, searching for a hospital.
The rest of the group stood still, apart from Skylar, who couldn't believe she would have attempted to shoot Foxie in the first place, but possibly killing her friend in the process of doing so.
Foxie flew between the clouds, flying as fast as she could, Shard muttered, "I don't want to go now...", Foxie held him closer to her, trying to stop the blood flowing out of Shard.
At last she caught sight of a hospital and flew down with blinding speed. When she landed, she checked if Shard was still alive, blood was seeping through her fur.
She ran into the hospital, the receptionist realised what happened and immediately called in doctors to aid Shard. Soon, Shard was found on a hospital bed, his wound was now healing.
Foxie sat next to him in the room, "I'm sorry for what I did, I didn't know what I was thinking..." Shard smiled, "I can forgive you at any cost... even if it costs my life."
Shard reached in to lay his hand on hers, Foxie moved closer to make it easier for him, "I'll always live with the guilt of taking something of yours...", she said solemnly.
They looked at each other once more, Shard let out a huge sigh, a sigh of relief to know that Foxie wasn't with Terbian. At least, not now she wasn't.
Shard broke the silence, "You look pretty with that long, flowing hair" Foxie had forgotten about the growth of her hair, due to the increase of power.
Shard took off her pilot goggles, resting on her forehead, and lightly stroked her hair, soon enough, they both became relaxed, too relaxed to worry about anything.
Soon, they both became hungry, "Hey, I'm gonna go find some food, you need to heal", Foxie said, and left to go and find a doctor who knew where the food was.
Foxie looked around the empty halls, at this hour, not many doctors were on duty, and it would prove to be difficult to find one, but to Foxie's surprise, she accidentally bumped into a nurse.
The nurse dropped all the medical papers she was holding, but Foxie levitated them back into her hands, the nurse was about to thank her, but she recognised her face.
The nurses face grew from kindness to rage, "YOU! YOU STOLE MY ENERGY!", Foxie backed away slowly, then after an awkward stand-off, Foxie ran.
She ran until she reached Shards room, then slammed the door behind her, her eyes were wide, "Foxie, what did yo-", Shard was cut off by the shrill shriek of the nurse.
Foxie bared her teeth in panic, "She recognises me from the city, I stole her power!" Shard stared, "Uh, when I was evil obviously...heh", Foxie added quickly.
The nurse started banging on the other side of the door, along with several of her collogues. Foxie had to think fast, she grabbed Shard and jumped out the window.
Foxie and Shard fell, Shard screamed while Foxie was having a whale of a time, she opened her wings and flew back up, with only a split second before reaching the ground.
She landed on the roof of a skyscraper and place Shard down, he sat on the edge and surveyed the breathtaking sight of the night sky. Foxie flew down next to him.
She then started to laugh and so did Shard, they stopped, Shard grabbed Foxie and kissed her, it was a lot more passionate than the first time they kissed.
Foxie's heart leapt when she felt Shard's tongue, but went with it anyway, Shard didn't seem to want to stop kissing.
