Mhmm, even though everyonce in a while you'll get a bad apple that rages everytime you kill them. I will say though it can still be frustrating when you're trying to get nuts or reach a goal but I still find people are alot more friendly in normal rooms because in ranked you normally get people that try to farm the room and act like they're above everyone else just because of their rank.

It still really is sad to see that people think they're good just because of a few numbers anyone could get over time.

In my opinion , it really doesn't matter if I get a high rank or low rank , what matters is the fun and the enjoyment of the game. Even if people think lowly of others , i'll try my best to somehow teach them a lesson they'll never forget

I must say, I've been holding off on bringing this up again but the game is just impossible to play when you get a high speed penalty. The whole point of the penalties was to balance the game but why add them when balance was already there? This is just disrupting the entire playstyle for some players and FORCING them to either deal with it or quit playing all together.

The only people this is helping is everyone else besides the players that suffer by being knocked down to a level they can't even operate correctly. People are purposely targetting these players and see them as easy kills and/or power ups which is just putting the better player in a newer player position, giving them the shorter end of the stick.

The people that are good at this game are first being rewarded for killing a lot of players with a boost when two players are left then punished afterwards weither they win or not. Speed in a game like this is CRITICAL for survivability and I can see why people abused bugs/used other methods to get around it.

In the end is it really worth making better players disfunctional and letting everyone else in the game poke fun? This is actually a good example of why some players are forced to play a purely defensive style just so they can live long enough to win the round.

Each time I join a Regular room, I get 30-40% penalty, this is realy annoying, is this a bug or a feature?

international ranked rooms is a terrible idea, i don't want to play in a room full of brs. if not because they fill up the chat with stuff i can't read, then because ping makes a pretty big impact on being able to avoid explosions, and right now it's difficult to get kills, or even get killed honestly.

if the /font asdf thing worked again to completely hide chat, that'd be great, but the ping issue is still there.

Well I'm back to having a speed penalty so high the game's just unplayable, what a great way to rid of players that enjoy the game.

I get your point but I think that it's fairly balanced. If you, say, reach 50% penalty it means that you are good or you got lucky.

If you got lucky you will get killed again until your speed penalty decreases to a level balanced to your actual skills. If you actually were that good, you will (more or less) maintain your penalty level to a high amount because, regardless of being slower than other players, you still manage to get kills.

Instead of changing how the system works I think that it should reward players who, regardless of the high speed reduction, still manage to play succesfully (win rounds/get a bunch of kills).

I'd love to hear how it's balanced taking away your ability to dodge things that wouldn't be a problem with maybe less then a 20% penalty but impossible with 40% or higher. Once you get a high penalty you're "lucky" to even win the round without someone faster then you purposely picking you off while you can't do anything about it. Does that really sound fair? And there really is nothing most players can do about it IF they want power ups, otherwise they're forced into "camping" by playing a purely defensive style.

Regardless of getting kills or not, it's still a matter of a player randomly deciding your fate or not by spamming an unavoidable chain of bombs in your way that you're just too slow to keep up with. The game was fair before penalties were introduced while the game was on Transformice and took skill to win. With the way Bouboum is run too, why doesn't Transformice have speed penalties as well for people that first too many rounds, would that really make sense too?

Even if a reward was added it probably wouldn't do much good because the problem would still be there and nothing would have changed, not to mention it'd probably go along with the same nut system we currently have that the currency would just get blown up anyways. Giving extra stats for it would be unfair.

And. the experienced players get +40% as soon as they join a regular room, and they "can do nothing but die". It's just as frustrating, cause their K/D ratio is getting worse each round while they "do nothing". In TFM, beginners or "noobs" can hardly "win" (be the first) either, most of the time, they die, and don't get cheese.

If you're so worried about beginners make a mode that they're teleported to by default with penalties so they can play with other players of the same skill level up to 1000 kills before penalties start kicking in for the room but give us experienced players the option to play in normal mode without penalties.

Ranked isn't for everyone now that it's international and even then speed is more critical there because of how much more experienced players are (Although I don't think that shouldn't change).

The point of the penalty is to add balance to a game that was already balanced before. I hadn't seen anyone complain while Bouboum was on Transformice about someone winning all the time (And even then it didn't happen that often).

Also, all you're doing to the experienced players is making them do nothing but die as said above.

@Shadowwinter: I'll repeat myself, I think it's balanced because your speed penalty can go up as much as it can go down. If you can't win rounds/get kills at a high penalty, it will subsequently decrease until you manage to perform normally again. Balanced doesn't mean easy.

Balanced shouldn't mean impossible either, but honestly if they just knocked it down to 20% max overall the game would still be playable for everyone and it's something that players (Like myself) can adapt to instead of having to adapt to a 60% speed penalty everytime we login to play.

I'm sure that the speed penalty solution will change as the game gets more popular and new players join the game / old players get better (i.e. speed penalty imo will be removed in Ranked once there are enough players to fill multiple rooms with appropriate rank)

And about the 60% speed penalty, I'm sure it must be hard to play but, how did you even get there? If for you it's something "common" to reach such a high penalty, then what is the value above which you start to feel uncomfortable playing? Do you maintain 60% or do you die almost always and leap back at lower %'s? If there was no 60% cap, do you think you would reach higher than that? To me it sounds frustrating but if you are so good that you can maintain that score, then what makes you upset about it? Also, any specific reason why you avoid playing Ranked?
