No support for reasons already stated. As said in the post above me, I feel a voluntary account deactivation is a better idea. Or perhaps after achieving a certain level (10 or so?) the account is safe from being deleted.

Why? Simple: Making people repick their usernames just for the sake so someone else whos not creative enough to come up with something else seems like a god awful idea.
Everyone will just fight for the most popular names and then they will need to worry that they might one day lose if it they lose interest in the game for a longer time period. No one had problems picking up names before,Never heard it from anyone "my name is horrible" or anything like that.
"Its your fault for not playing the game for that time period that through." Not at all,would you play a game that you got bored of and have no fun of playing? I would not,hence my own break.

It would have to be accounts that have less than 10 cheese gathered and haven't been used in over a year so accounts that are important to people aren't deleted.

This idea needs something like this added to it or it doesn't work for me.

/support BUT I think it should be over one year, so perhaps an alert at one year and then 1 year 6 months another alert, (email alerts) then at 2 years the account is disabled/deleted.

Instead of deleting an account, it could be renamed (for instance "eshkation" becomes "eshkation_" or "eshkation1") and if the old owner tries to logging in using the old password, he would get notified about the change. Requiring a valid email for this type of notification in the registration process would help a lot too.

Lmfao, what about 5 years? Cuz, on my original account i was afk for about one year and half , then i begun playing transformice again :)

If usernames are going to be deleted, they should be older accounts made in 2010-2011 that have very few stats and haven't been on since then.
It would give people who want to change their usernames ones that are more unique. Same for new players.
I do like Lemodile's suggestion about sending out emails to the inactive users. However, I'm pretty sure the accounts from 2010 wouldn't have an email associated with the account unless they came on after the email update (which was 2011?)

I don't like the idea of it only being 1 year. You know how many accounts would be deleted after 1 year of being inactive? probably 50% of users.

I came back after a year.

If my account was deleted when I came back, I'd probably flip my shit and demand it back because all of my friends are on there and so is my history and reputation. I didn't quit, I just went away for a year because of school.

Perhaps 2/4 years..
