when clouds first came out i was told that it was intended to only have 1 cloud on a map at any time. this makes sence considering on a dual sham map is pink is on a cloud they summoned and blue summons one on the other side of the map pink's cloud will disspear and they will die. or if you're on a cloud and then summon a cloud totem your original cloud will vanish. what i want to know is, multi cloud totems, such as cloud bridges or the "20 ghost clouds scattered across the map" one, are they a glitch/exploit or are they intended? I know how to get a multi cloud totem, same with multi companion crates, by placing one then re-entering the editor, but is it legit? I was under the impression that like when you could flap/fly with wings rather than just glide, that it is a bug, and will be fixed, and that people really shouldn't rely on totems like this as they will change. But it's been months since the leveling system came out and this has not been adressed. Does this mean the creators intended multi cloud totems and it's allowed/never gonna get fixed? if this is the case why do you have to go out of your way to awkwardly make a totem of this nature? |

Squirrelmows a dit : No. The ability to fly was a bug. Gliding is how you're supposed to do it. Anyone who says anything otherwise is lying. As for the multi-cloud totems, I don't know. I've asked mods but I get no straight answers. If someone could provide one, that's be great. |

i know flying was a glitch, i was using it as an example, i think if the multi cloud is a glitch it will get the same type of rage that the flyers got when the gliding glitch got fixed. the people who were like "well you left it this long so we should be allowed to keep it" i'd really like a post from a mod here to let me know what the deal is with the clouds, as i fear it's the same as gliding/flying was |

Multiple cloud totems are not part of Tig's design, but he apparently "knows about it". Also, I was forbidden by mods from teaching people how to make those. You should, uh, not teach people how to make them, either. :x Anyway, I expect a "fix" to come soon. And I've already designed a stable bridge totem with only one cloud, so I guess it's not too bad for me. |

this is fine, my totem has no clouds and i usually tell people not to rely on them incase they dissapear it seems this exploit is now fixed as no clouds can be used in totems, thanks devs! <3 |

This kind of destroys the totems of many players in the community. I think this is going to actually cause more problems than it prevents. Also, the bug that allows you to reuse skills that you've run out of (apples, runes, teleports, etc) still exists. I'd think that would be a bigger priority. |

are you talking about the unburstable exploit? I'dthink that would be farther down the priority list than abusing totems. you have to remember that hardmode is meant to be hard, totems are meant to only have 1 secure point if any. the people who spammed their totem with lots of clouds were essentially playin "easy hard mode" if such a thing makes sence. they were getting the perks of hardmode with a much more stable totem. this was a glitch. people grew to rely on it, that is THEIR mistake, not TFM. we knew from the start that multi cloud totems were not meant to be, but mice still used them lots, and now we can't even have one cloud in the totem. i guess i see it kind of as them shooting themselves in the foot, this always happens when people exploid glitches, when they get fixed the rage comes out. just remember that by having more than 1 cloud in your totem you were playing the game not as intended. you were "playing it wrong" and now it's been forced upon you to play it right. in short, man up, deal with it. you shouldn't have relied on an exploit in the first place |

that's what they said about flying with gliding wings. cos it too tig a few days to fix it everyone assumed it was "meant to be" and then started sending their hate his way when he fixed it. it was a glitch, it took a while to fix so people relied on it. this was your mistake, don't rely on a glitch also, if you would like a real world example of "just cos something took a while to fix doesn't mean it shouldn't be fixed" behold, the rubish law system of the country i live in. recently a famous man has been conviced of being a pedophile. the crimes he commited were in 2010, that was almost 4 years ago. only now is the evidence and prosecution finishing up and is the problem being "fixed" one might say. so, the problem happened 4 years ago, but is only being adressed now. with your tfm logic here of "if they didn't fix it right away why fix it at all" should let him get off scot free, right? now i know you're gonna say about how they're totally different situations, and i know they are, i'm just showing you that stuff takes time. he did horrible things to children and only now 4 years later is getting his comeuppance. the cloud totem exploiters did horrible things to the totem editor 5 months ago and are getting their comeuppance now |

I've personally been waiting for this fix for quite sometime considering when someone spawned 20 clouds or whatever the game started to lag rather badly and was just an eye-sore in general, I finally think hardmode will actually be, well, as hard as it can be. Complaining about the fix taking a long time is not a very good argument as well, they tried fixing it multiple times before and if that wasn't a sign enough for you that it was eventually going to get patched then I don't know what is. Finally there's a bit more balance to the game though. |
