ATTENTION: THIS PART OF THE FANFICTION IS NOW OVER! BUT THERE'S MORE TO COME, SO DON'T FREAKING ARGUE WITH ME AND BEG ME FOR IT TO STAY.

---

Hello~ Welcome to my first ever fanfiction ^^

I try my best to write with good detail and imagery.

This fanfiction is about a story called "Lost."

http://i.imgur.com/32xt5vK.png
Here's a little synopsis to get you started:

The world is a peaceful place. Every day brings more cheese to the mice holes and more happy mice walking about, enjoying their calm and carefree lives. Only a few believed that there was something further in the world, something darker. These people were looked at with fear, since these mice had more dark and gloomy personalities thanks to these beliefs. They believed in a horrible place beyond their simple and joyful world. It was a place of darkness, despair. Most did not believe in this place, and took the warnings as myths.
Of course, the few loners were right. So horribly right, but there was not one who was happy about being correct. For they had discovered chaos, and their world was now in grave danger of transforming into war and fighting.
At first, this newly-found world did nothing. Unfortunately, it wasn't harmless forever, and it soon became apparent mice started to go missing.
A total of 7 mice go missing and are believed to be stuck in the new realm, with danger at every turn. Surely, there must be a ruler of it all. Can these 7 heros rescue their world and themselves- or will both worlds become filled with battling and slowly fall apart?

Interested? Want to be one of these 7 characters? Well, there are 6 slots open to be a character in this story! (7th one is mine.)

Please only request to be a character in this story if you do not mind the character dying or having another similar occurrence with him/her.

There are specific types of characters I am using (i.e. cheerful, heroic, depressed, innocent- These aren't the same exact traits I am using except for one of those.) If I think your character fits in with one of these, I will put them in the story. If not, I'll tell you I cannot fit them into the story correctly. No overpowering characters, please. We all dislike them >.<

A week from now (March 9th), I will fill the rest of the empty character slots with my own made up characters. Please give detailed bios and DO NOT request to be in the story after slots have closed.

^^DATE HAS BEEN CHANGED TO 3/10 (3/14- See my third post)

Chapter 1: A Rude Awakening

Shard woke up slowly, his arms and legs stiff, his eyes blurry, as any other's would be after waking up. After waiting a few minutes for the lighting to adjust to his eyes, he stopped any other process of thinking and stared at his surroundings. It was strange... Something never seen or imagined by many before. He slowly got up, his legs aching a bit from being a bit too stiff still, but still managed to stay up, occasionally stumbling a bit.
It was strange, and brutal. It was dark all around him. Nothing but black and dark red skies, blood-stain red coated the area, whether you could view the sky or ground. It was a bit horrifying and impossible to be real to some, but for any normal loner, it was what they had waited for all along.
“Crap... It finally came... W-why do I have to be the one to end up here...? Why me...?” He stopped, settling down the rage and anger building up inside of him, and looked around once more. His turning ceased as he saw a figure nearby, and bared his teeth fiercely. The gritted teeth once more disappeared as the blurry figure started trembling with fear, and Shard moved forward a bit.
“P-please... Don't hurt me... I beg you, please!” a frightened voice cried out, small sobs slurring the words together just enough to make it difficult to hear properly.
Shard took a few more steps forward. The figure scooted back a bit, then stopped. As he approached closer and closer, it was clear as day --which didn't seem to exist in this place-- that it was another mouse, but younger and a bit more... Anxious and horrified. Shard didn't dare step closer, and instead replied to the petrified and poor mouse, “I'm not here to hurt you, I want to help. We could both use it.”
The scared mouse, who was curled into a ball at the moment, slowly got up, still shaking a bit, but not as rapidly. After steadying herself a bit and straightening her bow and hat, she took a solemn breath. “My name is Serafina, but most call me Fina.” The shaking ceased and she seemed a bit more bold and brave, but still a bit stressed.
Shard looked around for others. “I bet we aren't the only ones alone here... Serafina, do you believe in chaos? Havoc? Doom and demise? Suffering-”
Serafina cringed at the words. All of them. “-Yes... Please, don't continue it. It's better if we immediately start looking for others, that is, if we ever want to get out of here.” she interrupted abruptly. Shard only responded with a nod and started to search the area for any life whatsoever.

a dit :
Chapter 2: The Scavenger Hunt

Shard walked around the barren place; it was lonely and eerie. The ground was flat and it seemed to go on forever, and he didn't dare stray from Serafina, not here. It was a strange place, really. So lifeless yet somehow chaotic... Unless, there was something there that was just waiting, watching.
His train of thought was lost when a shout filled his ears, and footsteps came closer and closer to him, seemingly filled with anger and rage.
“Why am I here?! Answer me now!” a voice demanded, aggravated and blaming Shard for the incident without a doubt.
Shard swung around, staring at the multicolored mouse for a moment. He shook his head and answered with a bit of an attitude, “Me? You're asking me? I'm no less a victim of ending up here with no clue in my mind of how than you! Mind telling me who you are, hm?”
The mouse's face turned to a more upset and frustrated, but not the same as before. She let out a long and deep sigh, then looked back up to Shard. “Dakota. And you?”
“Shard.”
“Pfft. How creative.”
Shard nearly snapped, but kept his cool. “Look, we both don't want to be here. Fighting and going separate ways isn't going to help either of us. There's another back over there, perhaps there are more to help figure out where we are.” He gestured at the area he had come from, then looked back at Dakota, his face serious.
“Fine, let's get a move on, then.” She started walking towards the way she had been directed in, with Shard following behind.
“Fina...? Are you there? Answer me!” Shard demanded, then looked at Dakota who seemed a bit confused by the name. “The other mouse I told you about, her name is Serafina, Fina for short. But she isn't anywhere... Is it possible that she-”
“Hey! I found someone!” Serafina shouted, running back and dragging yet another mouse with her.
Before Shard said anything back, he looked at the new member. She didn't look too tough to be out here, but he shrugged it off. “Good, we need everyone we can get.” He looked at the mouse and told her, “My name is Shard, that's Dakota over there.” He gestured at Dakota, who had been standing quiet behind him. Shard was still trying not to think about the fact that this new mouse had rainbow hair.
The mouse smiled and seemed to have a bright attitude. “My name's Snowy, glad to meet you guys.”
Suddenly, from somewhere around them, an unfamiliar voice spoke out, “Need any help?”

Chapter 3: A Vision of Nostalgia

A brave-looking, white mouse ran up to the small group and quickly introduced herself. “The name's Foxie J. You can call me Fox, of course.” The brave and witty grin on her face then vanished and she went to more serious matters. “I don't know how we could have been right about this place, and how we could have ended up in it. All I know is that I, and most likely no one else, knows a single thing about how we've all ended up here. And I also found another person who could help...” she motioned for someone to come over and yet another stranded mouse appeared before them all. It was astounding how so many were victims of this occurrence. Were they the only ones?
The new mouse gave a slightly shy wave, then repositioned her hat back in place and introduced herself. “Aye, there. The name's Piry-O.”
Shard didn't reply for a moment to take a few deep breaths, then asked the obvious question, “So... HOW more exactly will we find?” He looked around and still saw a red and black barren field. It was most certainly strange being here, that was for sure.
The others shrugged and doubted there would be more, when a slightly timid-sounding voice spoke out, “I'm here, but I think I'm the only one left.” She took a step forward to be visible. This new mouse had fangs sharp and most certainly dangerous, but still didn't seem too threatening by the looks of it with eye shadow and a flowery necklace. “I'm Amanda...” she said softly and joined the group.
Now staring at them all, all the other victims of appearing in a world of chaos – which really didn't seem too chaotic at the moment – Shard went back to his old self. The one with a huge attitude and temper issue. “Who did this, I demand one of you tell me how we got here now!”
They all looked at each other and shrugged. “No one here can remember a thing. From the looks of things, you seem the most likely to have done this, really.” Dakota replied to him.
“Me...?! ME?! Did you forget I'm just as clueless about this situation as-” he stopped suddenly. He was getting a huge headache now as the others stared at him as if he were a freak. It may has well have been that way, for he was moaning and groaning non-stop like a lunatic.
“I-is he okay...?” Amanda asked, a bit concerned about Shard's sudden change.
He finally stopped and by now beads of sweat rolled down his face, and he was breathing loudly. “Ow...”
“What was that...?” Serafina asked, not sure whether Shard should have been scaring her or making her concern over him.
“...That... That wasn't what I thought it was, was it? Am I losing my mind... No... I couldn't be... But...” he continuously stammered over his own words.
“Well, spit it out already!” Fox shouted, impatient to know what was going on.
“I just had a vision... Of how we all got here.”

Chapter 4: A Realization that was Better Left Unsaid

“What did you see, Shard? Maybe it could help us find the way out of this terrifying place!” Serafina asked impatiently and joyfully, also with much curiosity in her face.
Shard shook his head. “It's all blurry... I... I think we were somehow all together... But why?”
Foxie looked at them all, trying to see if she could recognize any of them. “No... I don't know any of you.”
“Or do ye?” Piry-O asked, a bit skeptical and puzzled by this situation.
Snowy looked at them all, as well. “Did we forget we met each other... Or...”
“Were we just walking near each other?” Dakota finished for Snowy.
Shard shook his head no. “I never leave my home, but that vision... It was outdoors... Why would I have been outside?”
Amanda shrugged. “It's really weird. I wonder if something happened before it... Something that drew us all to that same spot, like...”
Shard gasped. “Like a lure... That could be it. This may have all been a trap...”
“A trap for what, though?” Dakota asked, the situation getting clearer and yet more and more puzzling by each new word someone added.
Shard shrugged his shoulders. “Maybe... Do you all... Believe in... Well...”
“Havoc, chaos, blah blah blah. Yeah, I think we all do. If not before, definitely now.” Foxie replied, cutting off the words Shard had been mentioning.
“Maybe we're the only ones who believe in that stuff. Everyone else is probably wandering around, joyfully and unaware that at any given moment they could all die some horrible tragic fate somehow. They wouldn't believe it would be possible! We've got to save them, this place is just a prison to keep us in until whatever wants to destroy us all has done that very exact task!” Shard grew anxious at every new word, then looked at the other group members.
“I don't know how you could come up with that, but you're right...” Snowy said, tears beginning to slowly stream down her eyes. “We... We're all going to die here, aren't we?”
Shard looked at her. His eyes stared at her but his mind was somewhere else, deep in thought.
“No. We'll survive. Even if it means risking everything we've got. We can live through this, I know it.” He looked at the others intently.
“Shard's right. We'll get out of here no matter what. If we were able to find out about this place years ago, and we've ended up here, then we can get out.” Fox said confidently, a small grin on her face in hopes that there was a way out.
“Then it's settled, time for a plan.” Shard gave a small smile back, something he rarely ever did.

a dit :
Chapter 5: Chaotic Turns Chaotic

Shard walked in front of the six mice, his head held high and his mind set on one thing: Forward. Never to look back, but to move on to a more serene place. To save themselves.
To save the world.
Foxie was close next to him. “Any idea where we're going?”
“Not the slightest clue.”
“That's reassuring,” Dakota added in with a bit of a snarl.
“I don't think we should fight over anything.” Shard said, putting his foot down a bit harder than needed and ceasing his walk. “It won't do us any good, now will it?”
“Ah, but what would be any good-o for us, now?” Piry-O asked, a bit concerned that the group had no idea what to really do.
Serafina looked at them all. “Maybe we-”
“-No... It's hopeless, isn't it, Shard?” Fox asked, her face turning gloomy and now loking at the black ground. “There isn't a way out... Is there...”
Shard didn't reply. Instead he continued walking on, without looking at the others. They all walked in silence for a decent amount of time, yet everything around them looked the same as always.
Suddenly, Amanda stopped walking. The others stopped as well and Shard finally turned around. “What's going on?” he asked curiously.
“Did anyone hear something...?” Amanda asked, quivering a bit. Shard listened carefully and intently. He heard noises, too.
“Guys... I think we're about to figure out how chaotic this place is...” He looked behind the group, determining that the noise was coming from that direction. “Run!” he shouted and turned back, running along with the others as fast as they could.
Everyone could hear the noises, now. They were loud and ear-piercing screeches that screamed louder and louder as they got closer and closer.
Perhaps the world would have a little delay to be saved, after all.

---

a dit :
Chapter 6: Already Over

Each mouse ran as far as they could, as fast as their feet would carry them. It seemed hopeless as the sounds they heard grew louder and louder. Every one of their hearts raced, with no time to stop and catch a breath.
Amanda looked back cautiously and briefly and squealed, “We'll never outrun these things, they're too fast!”
Shard turned now, and Amanda was right. They were too fast, they were nearly upon them. By now they were easier to see, and there seemed to be only three of them, though they were very large.
“Are those... Mice?” Snowy asked through small puffs of breath, still striving to keep up with the others.
“Maybe they were once, but not now.” Shard replied, still looking back at them. They were like shadows, like black flames. The shadows would screech constantly and had the form of a mouse, but most certainly not normal ones. “They look dead... Like-”
“Phantoms! What luck we must have!” Serafina answered, not daring to look back again after taking a brief peek. “We can't outrun those!”
Shard looked at them all and decided it was time to make a tough decision. “We have to split up.”
“Are you insane?! That's the last thing we should do!” Foxie shouted, angry yet desperate for a way to get out of those dead creatures' clutches.
“I think we'd all die that way, Mr. Smart.” Dakota snarled.
Shard growled a bit to himself. “It's better than us all dying here! One of us could escape, if not more! What have we got to lose?”
“I trust Shard, and I don't want anyone else to die... We have to try it, we just have to,” Serafina shouted, trying to speak over the screeches that were so close they made it deafening to listen to.
“Then go!” Shard shouted, straying from the group that quickly broke up, bursting into different directions. They all ran in odd patterns and as swift as they could, and the loud noises soon faded. Each mouse became well aware of this and tried walking back from where they came from, hoping they would meet up with each other again. The problem was that everything looked the same.
Fox wandered around without a clue of where she was going, when she heard a silent moaning sound. She looked around and jumped at the sight of a black figure; it was close, too. She started to walk away from it, afraid it was one of the ghosts when she heard the moaning again- then seem to stop short and still. It hadn't sounded nearly like the sounds the phantoms were making before, and she walked back to take a peek. She nearly squealed at what she saw, then stopped herself.
Shard was lying there, his eyes closed and surrounded by fresh blood, that for some reason didn't blend into the ground as much as it seemed it would have. Fox looked at him for a moment, dumbfounded, and then turned and ran away, tears streaming down her face.

Chapter 7: A Reflection Upon Worth

Foxie ran without any thoughts of where she was going, or what she was doing. She finally opened her eyes again after bumping into an object. Somehow the group was back together, or, most of the group.
“I'm not even going to ask how that's possible...” Snowy said, scratching her head at the sight of the whole group having met back together in one place.
“Maybe our senses of direction are really good...?” Amanda said, trying to explain the reason how this was even possible.
Serafina shook her head. “I'm horrible with direction normally. Maybe something in our instincts just drove us all here-”
“Who cares.” Dakota interrupted, impatient at the irrelevant conversation. “I think saving our kind is more important than how we found each other.”
“Aye, Dakota has a point-o, if only she be doin' somethin' like that more.” Piry-O chimed in.
Fox just stood there, quiet in grief, salty tears slowly making their way down her cheeks. She was looking down at the ground, ignoring the meaningless conversation they were all having. The fact that they didn't even seem to realize anything about it made her snap. “Haven't you all noticed someone's missing?!” she blurted out in frustration.
They five other mice stopped and looked around at each other. It wasn't too hard to pick out the one that was missing. “Shard!” Serafina shouted, gasping and looking at the others in panic and dismay. “Wha-what could have happened to-”
“He's dead!” Foxie cried, then silently sobbed for a few moments. “He selflessly saved our lives and you guys don't do anything but wander around talking about stupid and meaningless arguments! We have to focus and get out of here or we basically just killed him just to all die ourselves!” She finally stopped and took a moment to breathe through her often sobs.
“D-Dead...?” Serafina stopped as tears started to form in her eyes. “But... I thought we'd all make it back here alive...”
“He knew that it was all or nothing. He knew if we didn't break up we'd all die, and that if we did only one or two would. I doubt he just ran, he probably taunted them...” Dakota told them, trying to end the sensitive ordeal. “We have to keep going...”
“Not... Not with m-me, you won't...”
Serafina and Foxie looked up from the ground and turned slowly to the voice.

a dit :
Chapter 8: Forward

A black mouse triumphantly but painfully walked slowly towards the group, limping and using their giant sword as a mere walking cane, then looked up at them. He had a huge and bloody gash in his side, still wet but not as serious as before.
Foxie was speechless. “You... Weren't you...”
“Dead? I was surprised myself, you didn't even check!” Shard gave a pained smile and limped a bit closer to the group. “Better hope we do find any of those things again or I'm completely screwed. They only left because they though I was dead!”
The whole group seemed to brighten up as this sight, even if it was an injured mouse that they didn't even think to tend to. “I think we're all glad you're okay...” Serafina said gleefully, then shook her head. “But we might not have enough time to save the others anymore, they may all be dead at this very moment!”
“It could have been like that years ago, Fina.” Dakota told her, still with a hint of solemn passing through her voice. “But it didn't happen.”
“Yes-o, we be ready-o to fight-y at anything this place throws at us-o!” Piry-O shouted cheerfully, getting the whole rest of the team pumped up.
“We can do this, I know we can! We have hope, the will to go one place and one place only!” Snowy yelled joyously, slightly jumping up and down with reborn excitement.
“Only one place...” Amanda echoed with pleasure in her voice.
“Forward.” Foxie and Shard both said at once, then looked at each other with true smiles.
“Then it's settled, no more doubts.” Shard said, gaining the new ability to stand up straight and hardly need support from his blade anymore.
“No more crying, no more depression!” Snowy shouted happily, her eyes shooting from one mouse to another.
“Let's go the only place we can go...”Serafina told them with great inspiration firing her up.
And then they went. The only place they could go...
Forward.

a dit :
Chapter 9: Leave them to Die

And so they walked for endless hours, seeking the destination they seemed they'd never reach with such longing and devotion. Everything here looked the same. The sky and ground were the only things to accompany the lonely group, on its never-ending journey that seemed would last a lifetime – that is, if the lifetime were short as expected when in such a dangerous place.
The proud and joyful inspiration in the group had died down at this point and they had been traveling hours in silence; it was a deep silence that made the place even more eerie and haunted.
Serafina couldn't help but to break this silence and asked, “Shard... Do you think those phantoms... You think they were mice just like us ever?”
“I wouldn't say 'just like us,'” Dakota said to Serafina in great discomfort from the reminder that those dead shadows could strike at any given moment.
“They probably were living mice at one point...” Shard answered.
“You think... They were always this mean?”
Shard took a moment to think about Serafina's question. “Probably not, I bet they don't remember a thing of their past life... Just that now all there is to do is kill anyone who trespasses in their domain.”
“Yeah, like we MEANT to come here,” Foxie said with great sarcasm in her voice.
“How would they end up here though? This mustn't be where all mice go when they die...” Amanda said sheepishly, shivering as she thought of ending up here after death.
“Aye, you have to keep-o in mind-y that we mouses don't die often.” Piry-O reminded them.
“It's true, this could be what happens to those who... die...” Snowy said, scared and wishing that death never came.
“Maybe... Maybe it's just for those who... I don't know...” Shard stammered, trying to end the conversation for good. He didn't like the talk of death, and kept the thought to himself that the phantoms they pass may be deceased relatives of the group members.
“Those who die here?” Amanda worried, getting very anxious now.
“There's got to be a faster way out of here than walking around blindly!” Snowy cried out.
“Shh! The ghosts will hear you!” Shard whispered loudly.
“Let them hear us, maybe we should all give up and just die here!” Dakota shouted angrily, rage stuck in her voice. “If all we do is argue and wander around without hope we'll ever make it out, what's the point of doing anything else but sitting here until we all become cursed ghosts in the hell, also?”
Shard stopped walking, followed by the rest of the group. He looked around at them all.
“There is no point... We shouldn't say a word again if all it's going to do is make us argue and weep.” he said, taking a deep breath and slouching back on his sword, then continued walking on.
“What if one of us dies here, though?” Snowy asked, not helping the situation.
Shard kept his back turned to he group, contemplating what to say.
“If one is about to die, you can choose to try to aid them to your very best, and have them die knowing you tried. If you wish to be cruel and betraying, leave them to die.”

She snuck out of the orphanage three days after, with only a gun and the clothes she had on. Dakota learned how to hunt and survive in the wild forest ever since. She's rebellion, and very unfriendly- but she's the most loyal person ever to her friends.

(Sorry I took so long to get back to you- there were a few issues over here ^^)

Mhm yes... I can DEFINITELY fit her in ._.

Welcome to da crew :3

I'll start getting it ready on the 9th, others can still join! .3.

HMM... MHMMM...

Naw just kidding I can fit you in easily. <3

Okay since I don't want to make 4 extra characters myself (and want to get others involved more :P) I'll move the date to...

Hm...

3/14. Why not...

Yes, let's make it pi day. Pi day is the last day to submit a character...

If I don't get anything else by 3/10, I'll just close the character slots and get on with the writing and stuff.

(Sorry for the wait ^^)

Name: Serafina (fina for short)
Age (Human years): 17
Gender: Female
Loner?: Yep
Bio: Serafina had always been the mouse that was outcasted. Her family died in a fire when she was about 6 by her own hand (on accident of course) from then on she learned to live on her own.(oh and shes afraid of fire from the accident) She grew up too quickly and was alienated by other mice because of her differences. She shuts everyone out and doesn't trust anyone. uhm, flashback story? ill delete it if you dont want it. *Flash back* "momma! daddy!" she cried, coughing and scurrying crazily through the burning nest....no response "mom?! dad?!" she runs quickly to her parents room, to find them burnt to a crisp, their fur a black color. Her eyes widen as tears slip down her face, quickly getting out of her flaming home and to a forest (most likely the same forest as amanda's) to live.

Are double posts allowed if you're the writer of a fanfiction, I wonder...

Nonetheless, I present to you, CHAPTER 1! :3 (Came out earlier than imagined)

a dit :

Hope my writing skills are okay; keep checking back for more! ^-^

Chapter 2 is now out! :3

Really, I don't see how my writing is /that/ good. xD

I think the next chapter will have gotten all the characters involved. I of course will have more in the series. :3
