Events and ridiculous amounts of grind |

Hey, this is something I've seen a lot of complaints about ingame over the last year and it seems that with almost each event the amount of time invested to 'complete' an event has become more and more insane. I realize that I'm not forced to complete an event but I still believe that it very well should be possible to do so (especially considering I've already have all the returning titles etc) in a reasonable amount of time. I've been playing a quite above average amount of time and I also got plenty of candy from friends who just don't want to bother with this event because it's just too time consuming, but I'm still nowhere near finished. Nor do I plan to finish. And it gives the whole event a sour taste. They're supposed to be fun. But no, instead they get tedious when you play the same event maps for several weeks or months. Even more so for the people that give up on the event on the first day. Also yes, I realize I'm rambling a little bit, but I never saw a thread concerning this on here. |

I play around four hours a day on weekdays, or more depending. I can play anywhere for 10 to 30 hours over the space of a weekend. I found this event far too difficult to complete within the given timeframe so I decided to give whatever I could scrape together to friends who actually could finish it. It is probably the most taxing event I've come across since the relic event a few years back, which I ground super hard for. I didn't see the point in wasting time for an event I wasn't going to complete this time. I'd have loved to have gotten the badge(s) and the Voldemouse title but the workload alongside everything else was too much. This is considering the extra free time advantage that I have over a lot of the community. Moral of the story is: grind bad, fun good. Balance the two. |

They really need to find a happy medium between the two, with making events last longer but at the same time make it easier for casual players. Due to my work schedule I'm no longer able to play multiple hours a day and as such I've not completed an event in a good year's time now. |

They really should make it way more friendly for players who havent played the past halloween events, because its ridiculous the number of sweets they ask to unlock all the badges and titles i did some calculations and you need about 117 roses and 630 sweets to unlock all the titles and badges its way too much, even if you got the 3 2012 map everytime (23 sweets max) you would need about 282 events without missing a single sweet to get every title and badge. And thats just the amount of time needed if you get the max number of sweets everytime in each event map, With normal event maps (10 sweets max) a new player would need to complete the event 648 times without missing a sweet to get all the needed candy (6480) to unlock everything, the amount is so insane that nobody will be able to get so many sweets not even players like ykr. Btw i suck at math so i will leave the prices here in case im wrong 37 roses to get all the titles from Buffy 60 roses to get all the badges from buffy 50 roses to get the voldemouse title about 190 sweets to get the titles casper, frankenmouse and vampire from Von drekkemous 450 sweets to get the badges from Von drekkemous And you need more sweets i think, since i didnt counted the titles "Scooby doo" and "the cursed" because i dont remember if they need sweets to unlock. |

No one likes an easy, fast done event, but not many of the players will actually will try to grind up to total of: 7980 candies + slot machines to get all of the past event titles + this years titles + badges and everything. That amount is sick. Even if we don't count the past event rewards, it's still 4250 of candy to collect to get this year's titles and badges. 1 event map you can get 10 candy (on flappy bird you can go up to 20). It's a LOT of grinding, and honestly quite too much. I agree that this increases the value of the badges and titles, but it's also becoming a grind fest, not much fun from this. I know creating a story is hard, but I really liked the 2012-2013 year game play and 2014 year Halloween story. I hope Christmas won't be so hard on the grinding, but will have a good back story of the things that we'll do in that event. Make it feel like we're part of it, like it's actually Christmas in Tfm, not just the event maps or just changing the ground texture with planks and adding some shaman items (not saying they are bad, they are most welcome, but give something more?) Yep been trying to give feedback about this on every recent events. But the devs... um... I won't say that they don't completely not listen. Considering the candies added to the 2012 maps and the recent double candies update for flappy mouse. But you know what I mean. Been wanting to make a thread like this, but I'm not the sort of person that wants attention and lead a revolution. Thanks for the thread! :D I have a lot of complaint posts. I'll just copy and past my recent rant a few days ago. Camsa a dit : Haruhitastic a dit : I think the solution is simple. JUST CUT THE PRICE OF EVERYTHING TO ABOUT 1/3~1/5 OF THE CURRENT PRICE!!!! (Sorry for shouting) Maybe there are some downsides to this, but I'm sure the benefits (thousands of happy mice and being more productive in real life etc) will outweigh it. For some reason, since the constant 2 month events system started, they think that it should take 2 months of grinding every day to finish it. Actually it should be about 2~3 weeks of grinding or something so that people can still finish it after starting late and others have some breathing room. Being able to take breaks, do real life things. Also 2 months grinding means once you are finally done, you get yet another grinding event just a week later! Sonicherois a dit : On the contrary, I'm thinking who wouldn't like an easy, fast event? I will say that no more (so far recently) luck based events, variety of maps, 20 min map rotation, the shop system etc is really great though. :) Dernière modification le 1447084140000 |

Thought this thread would have more discussions than this.... That's really disappointing. :( What? Is everyone else fine with the grinding? |

The grinding: it's taken me over 5 weeks of regular playing, with a lot of help from friends that won't bother with unlocking things themselves or are otherwise sweethearts, to have finished any event this year. It's bad, I look forward to not playing. |

Meh the more insaner the more we quit doing events I quit events after the farm was removed,it just gets bored when you want to wait for the map and you only get 5-6 if u die and 8-9 if u didn't die If I got any relic event such as (A`s and F`s and candies) I always give them to my friends After these two events I am not even excited anymore for any upcoming events. The Back-To-School event was pretty hard on it's own. Grinding all those damn A+'s really wore me out, and that was WITH the help of friends. But anyway, now to the Halloween Event. I wasn't too happy to see the insane prices of this event... They are literally asking for a ton of work in exchange for a title that was so easily obtained last year/the year before. Like for example, playing the center slots for «Pumpkin Juice» (2013). So all the new players (including me) are being forced to work and pay nearly twice as much candy for the older badges/titles as the other players who already have everything. I call bs |

the way i see it they don't "expect" you to unlock every single reward FROM PAST EVENTS as part of the event. I see them as an "extra" that was added in for those really commited to the grind/completionist who wern't around the last time this event theme rolled around. yes it is crazy to expect someone to get 7k+ collectables. But I'd also argue it's crazy to assume everyone playing this event has set a goal to not only get all the unique things this event offers, but all of the previous older titles/badges etc it offered in the past. I see it much like a collectable card game the way they bang out time grabbing events straight after the last one ends. They're like expansions. When an expansion is released in a card game the general consensus is that the devs expect people to aim to get the cards they want, and only completionists go for every single card in the release. the people here arguing it's insane to think people can get all the stuff from past events too... that's like wanting to buy/collect every single card in the history of the game that's ever been released before the expantion, AND all the expansion cards, in the time that the expansion is still fresh. Yes it is crazy, just cos you can do it doesn't mean they expect many to. I don't see why the devs should bend over backwards to make every single person regardless or time or skill able to get every single thing offered during any promotion. tldr: the stuff from past events is an optional thing that's been stuck on for the people who have the time/skills/crazy dedication/love for the grind to get something hard to get on top of what's easily avaliable. Don't expect to get everything given to you on a platter and easily accessable or you wouldn't be playing what many consider a competitive game |
