Roomhopping has been a thing in Transformice for a long time, but lately due to the new event system in place (how event maps are rolled out, etc) roomhopping seems to have reached a new frenzy...? Roomhopping is when you run across all rooms, in hopes of getting a few event maps every 30 minutes instead of only having one event map per rotation to save time and get things faster. Of course, this has brought chaos to those that don't do this and those that hate their rooms being invaded every once in a while, especially when the event map in their room is late (aka a few minutes later than most of the rooms, in which case most mice would have done the event map and would scour the horizons for a chance to get another item before the long wait). There are many valid reasons to hate or take part in roomhops. Saves time, gets things faster, etc etc. What are your opinions? Is it a crime, or an okay thing to do? Is it really needed? (For me, I do do it most of the time, because I don't have a lot of time to play TFM all the time. But I can understand those that don't like the roomhops. I mean. just imagine your typical day in your room, and then suddenly... a stampede.... oh they're gone again.) sorry if this topic isn't allowed x_x Dernière modification le 1456065660000 |

Roomhopping has been bothering me for quite a while. Since many mice keeps on ruining our fun, i think is a good idea not to go to the crowded rooms. You see, everytime in 2014 i have been in, a stampede of mice comes in and lags out if you have a "Display Other Mice Outfits" embed. I remember the consumable incident were mice push the cat away and blocking tight tunnels to stop mice from completing it further. In my opinion, roomhopping can be difficult for some mice, hence why the event tracker keeps being spreaded by mice. :/ |

The admins should put an event timer, that shows how much time is left til' the event map so that way people would stop room hopping all the time |

I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing, considering most of the people roomhopping are experienced players, which can be helpful for team events. Also, on difficult events (such as this carnaval one) it's a big timesaver, especially for people who want to finish the event but cnnot be on all week or would rather not spend every waking second on a mouse game. |

I thought this didn't work anymore? Event maps are now synchronized, they come at roughly the same time in every room last time I checked. So no more event farming. |

"Room Hopping" origin came from the Event Spreadsheet. Which of course, Mejet has made. And we would have time sets to where, we know where the event map will come next. And we would enter one event, and leave to another target room to the next one where it will appear. It's really good to do, if you want the event finished quicker. Having "Display Mices' Outfits" disabled will make Room Hopping easier without any lag. Edit: Oh. If you guys wonder why the Event Spreadsheet never survived anymore. Meli got angry during her ask blog when someone asked "why is there a lot of mice in other rooms? everytime i see a lot of mice in a room, the event happened. are they farming for event?" I don't know, I forgot. But, that's how the patch started after 2 months later. The patch contained to where the rooms will have events at the same time. Dernière modification le 1456087620000 |

Maxkkk a dit : no it still works if you do it quickly since some rooms play the map later than others, but still around the same time [what am i saying] i personally room hop because i'd prefer to have the event done over the weekend instead of having to spend time on weekdays to do them Dernière modification le 1456087440000 |

Spreadsheeting is no longer a good method of room hopping for events. The event triggers in all rooms at the same time, but only appears when the current map has finished. Some maps are still at 2 minutes, some could be at 10 seconds. Since the event this time is actually really short, it's really easy for room hoppers to obtain 3 or 4 events at one time, since the huge gap in room times allows for people to switch between rooms after the 15 second event. |

solfn a dit : Of course, Room Hopping just became the new Spreadsheeting. But, we don't have a Spreadsheet, nor we won't ever use it until there are a few-some updates that edits the event timing. 3 or 4 events in one go? I always roomhop if possible, and the average is still 1 or 2, depending on how well you complete a map. I remember it being pretty easy to roomhop for the Epiphany event, but for those that require other actions could take much longer. Anyways, the admins have fixed it so there is an event item gain cap. Like for the Anvil God event. I don't see why so many are against room hopping. The lag aside, mice are simply trying to finish the events faster. And they leave right after. |

I do it everytime to try to finish the event faster since it takes way too long the normal way. davidwuyy a dit : Yes, I was saying exactly this forever. Knowing when exactly the next event will come will reduce lots of frustrations, no more "When is event??????" spam in chat, and more efficiently do the event. Although now that the entire system seems cancelled (which I'm happy with) it's no longer needed for now. Maxkkk a dit : As someone else said, that's exactly why room hopping works. Because each room has a slight difference in timing. Once the event appears in the room you were in, then it will soon appear in other rooms too assuming your's wasn't the late one. Accounterror a dit : No she didn't. She thought it was a smart thing to do. Dernière modification le 1458997740000 |
