Still not a big fan of collector system since new items are usually collector ones.

Hello everybody, Yelnya here. This is an old textbook marketing scheme used by transformice to increase their revenue as a short-term remedy for their losses. Notice lately how they are constantly pumping out new limited-edition items at discounted prices as Transformice's playerbase and subsequent income come to an inevitable free fall. To make a product more "sellable" and thereby increasing revenue, Transformice creates a sense of urgency combined with discounts to pressure players into compulsive purchases. Don't worry if you can't get this weeks limited edition set, because you can just get next week's limited edition set that just so happens to be a coincidence too!

Hello Yelnya, Mquk here. There is a lot of people who complain about that and to be honest, i don't understand why. I guess if you are here, it's because you like this game so where is the problem if they try to get money to keep their company and transformice alive? If they don't have enough money, you'll have nothing to complains about because transformice would be closed.

Yep, as we could read here Atelier801 has some financial problems right now, and the collector is only way for them to get more money to keep their games up, they obviously get more money when they add new items every week for limited time, because before they used to add 3 - 4 items every month... So please stop complaining about collector items, since it's only way to keep the games up.

Sorry, but that's bullshit. It's one way for them to make money, but certainly not the only option. As an example they could standardize the pricing of all shop items (eg. 1 fraise = the same # of cc for all items), and put all items with a higher fraise to cc ratio to make buying fraise, rather than simply farming cheese, to be a more attractive option. Farming cheese is easy to do, and cosmetics are a luxury.

If they wanted to they could even go the loot box route because we all know people love gambling (pls god no).

The real problem is the shrinking player-base, not the way they were monetizing the game. On average, in any free-to-play game, roughly only 3-5% of the player-base pays in to the game in any impactful way. Smaller player-base = less money; and alienating your player-base is a surefire way to lose money. The collector system is nothing more than a band-aid fix for a much larger problem.

Wrong. I spent more money when all furs were available to me than I do now that there are limited edition furs. The problem is us PAYING PLAYERS pay for furs because we have jobs. However we spend most of our time working that when a new limited edition collector item comes out it may not be within range of payday and that is why we loved having NON limited edition furs because we can buy/gift the furs we want without having to wait for that fur to be rereleased again. Alienating your players with a $5 fur (especially when a huge portion of these players are kids who don't have jobs) is not a good move. And cranking the price of the fur so high in CC would take longer than the amount of time the item/fur was in the shop for us to farm for it.

And I agree with Tiger. TFM, your cheese currency needs a better conversion rate. You can't even find a decent tail item in the shop for less than about 800 cheese.

Let's look at the Star tail item for example. Its 80 fraizes or 800 cheese coins. That means the conversion for this item is 1 fraize = 10 cheese coins.

Then you have the Heart tail item for 150 fraizes or 1000 cheese coins. The conversion for this item is 1 fraize = 6.66 cheese coins (if you want to round than its 7)

OR The sundial tail item, which is 150 fraizes and 1500 cheese coins. 1 fraize = 10 cheese coins.

so the sundial tail item is more expensive that the Star tail item in fraizes, but has an equivilant worth in cheese coins conversion. It also has the same worth as the heart tail item in fraizes, but has more of a CC conversion worth, and is more expensive in cheese coins.
