shrug- been dead to me since none of my friends have been on in 3 years or longer. it was fun for the time it lasted.

i dont mind the lower player count but i really dislike that its become exhausting to be part of its community. there is so much negativity now and its like nobody is even having fun anymore. can't even keep new players around

I agree, but the fact that people call this a dead game is part of the problem. If you don't stay for the game, make'm stay for the community. Unfortunately a lot of people see being a negative downer as "entertaining" instead of just doing what you're supposed to in games; have fun.

Reasons why Atelier801 got this bad and Transformice has been on the decline:

No actual updates like new mechanics, new modes, etc. (NOT LUA MINI-GAMES FOR GOD’S SAKE those are community-made and not actual additions to the game)
Recycled events, or better, recycled events with the tiniest bits of “added content,” which don’t really improve gameplay as every event is super grindy and boring, and at this point also pointless.
The fact that new furs keep coming and it basically being all what Meli seems to have been doing so far got me thinking that maybe they don’t even know what they’re doing anymore.
The remaining people working(?) at A801 not being able to figure out what to prioritise or how to spend money. They should’ve hired better accountants, though I’m assuming they didn’t have any to begin with considering the current state of the company.
Remaining in-game staff (most of the time) not giving a care in the world about moderation now that the game is basically dead and there’s no point in actually checking players, banning hackers and whatnot.
“Fraises” are not worth anything and in countries where PayPal isn’t even available (for example in Turkey), having purchasable items constantly being promoted on the shop is kind of dumb and no one really cares in my opinion.
A801’s pointless projects which they scraped after not so long got them so busy doing other stuff that they forgot to actually take care of an already existing game, a game that thrived some time and was very fun to spend time playing. Like, what’s the point of making a new RPG-inspired(?) game when in reality you have no idea how those games work and you keep allocating your remaining resources to that game, completely ignoring the number one priority community, us still remaining players on Transformice, the veterans who want nothing but new stuff, not only for us but also for newcomers.

I think the issue is that most of the veteran players were... Kids. This game is a decade old, coming up on it's 10th anniversary soon! It's not their fault that years ago back in 2014 when the game was still thriving that we were in the range of 12 to 16. Look at all the accounts that were made in 2012 to 2014. It's 2020 now and all of the players that used to play everyday and pumped as much money as they could into the game are well... Highschoolers, people who are almost in college or even arein college!

Of course the game is going to die out, it always does. Games always do.
