Allow Turkish players to be able to talk in other servers! |

Hi, Turkish players aren't allowed to talk in other communities' chat and Café since forever, and I've heard that is because some old Turkish players were trolling and spamming other servers which is absolutely insane. But is it really essential and necessary to mute all Turkish players in other servers when you have a lot of moderators to take actions when someone's breaking a rule? Actually after all the world has been through, blaming every Turkish player and passing the buck to them sounds racist to me. Thank you. |

Hey. Well, yes. If you are in other server, it is not allowed to talk with different languages there. Its specific community with a specific language. The same goes for Atelier forums. If you post a TR language post in EN community, you will be moderated as it is against rules. Specific community- specific language. International community- international language. TR community- TR language. Rules probably won't be changed as they are created since the beggining of the forum creation. Dernière modification le 1594240320000 |

^ I believe they are talking about the IP restriction for certain countries that forbids to write in foreign communities at all, even if they are speaking the language of that particular community. |

Ohololocoli a dit : As far as I know, it's not only Turkish players who's suffering from this discrimination. Arabic users (meaning most of the middle east) are not allowed to write in the chat of other communities as well. So, it's not just a xenophobic action taken against a particular nationality. It's spesified as Anti-Middle Eastern racism in the link below. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anti-Middle_Eastern_sentiment Dernière modification le 1594246500000 |

This unprecedented amount of hate and discrimination towards Middle Eastern people is ridiculous. If someone is causing havoc, then sanction them. Blocking entire countries from chatting in other communities is just putting a band-aid on poor moderation. They have literally zero excuses for this. Some people were spamming in their language back in, like what, 2011, and you, the makers of this game who are notorious for bad ideas, sit and come up with the only “solution” which is only allowing them to talk in EN International and their community? Well, if there MUST be some region-locking system in place, then do it for every country. Not only for the Middle East. I don’t understand why I’m not allowed to speak when I want to play in BR and talk to my fellow Brazilians even though I can converse with them in Portuguese. There is no way for staff to know who speaks which language, that is a fact; however, limiting players based on ancient experience is something to laugh at. Hi there! I understand your anger for this rule, however you must understand, this game has many communities, each community usually has it's own language, EN = English, ES = Spanish, TR = Turkish, etc, and you can easily log into your community to talk to your friends! You could also log into the E2 server which is the international server and has NO specified language, therefore, you could speak turkish to english people, and etc, I hope this helped you with this discussion! |

Lelianna a dit : You are wrong. The E2 server is strictly English, therefore you cannot chat in other languages. I used to have a lot of friends from the US that I met on Transformice but I wasn’t able to chat with them in E2 rooms because the game wouldn’t let me. The only servers in which people with Turkish IP addresses can chat are TR and the international EN server. I love that no staff member commented under this thread, since nobody has any idea that this is an ongoing issue for communities that are looked down on. When they did not know how to handle spamming because they sucked and still do suck at moderating, they probably thought “well, since we don’t really understand what they’re saying, let’s throw the baby with the bathwater and block this entire country from chatting in servers where they shall no longer be welcome!” I mean, it’s so easy to judge an entire community based on few’s actions, or based on personal prejudice against Middle Eastern communities; however, never once in the lifetime of this already dead and buried idiocy of a game have the makers or the community managers ever shed some light on this. Years ago I asked a staff member why I wasn’t able to chat in other servers and what I was told was that users can chat only in their country’s server. But it’s not the same for SOME countries which appear to have superior IP and can therefore chat in servers different than theirs. Now I ask the admins and other staff members: WHY is this a thing? Why Middle Eastern and Turkish communities are blocked from chatting in other servers? |

Vaporous a dit : I don't know which community you're talking about. I don't remember back when I lived in Egypt being muted from any server, but I can't test that now since there isn't any working proxy address for it. Anyway I'm sure they don't mean to target Middle Eastern people in particular, since the same thing was applied to Brazilian IPs even before the Turkish ones a long time ago. No one is allowed to talk in the Arabic server from outside the Arab world as well. I heard that this was implemented that way because the Arabic server was receiving racist trolls. Problem is that they implemented it without considering that there might be Arabs living elsewhere. That caused me problems back when I was an AR helper because I live in Germany, a country that has a small but significant Arab community. It makes no sense to have those IP addresses outright muted without considering the demographics of the users in relation to their location. So yup, I agree that the whole thing should have been implemented in another way, but I think that we should refrain from accusing someone of racism without clear proof because it distracts from actual racism issues. Just my two cents. |
