| a mooncake is a Chinese/Asian traditional food to eat around the time of Harvest Moon, which is during the 10th month of the Lunar calendar I believe basically it's when the moon is closest to the earth and appears the largest Mooncakes are dense - not really a "cake" or a pastry a very thin layer of breading that is molded into intricate shapes covers the different sweet bean paste flavors. In the center is a salted egg yolk that represents the moon. The cake is about an inch and a half thick with a 3? inch diameter tldr; they're really good. |
