Now we're probably not trying but dont worry we'll get them soon :) (1) Why would you want to know? [1.1] Updates, For the most part, there haven't been any major updates to Forto. We've actually been expecting the Zombie updates for about year. But that never happened. [1.2] WE'RE ANGRY!!! Because of this people are getting angry and have stopped playing the game. This is the most sad part. If we want change then we need to support the creators, but if they are not getting profit then we need to bring them profit. -ANGRY- [1.3] Unbalanced weapons Solfn- Fort would be much more bearable to play if it was balanced properly. It's too hard for new players to get into the game because of the 80% spas players that just walk up to people and shoot while hardly aiming and get results, plus the bombers who just walk into bases and plant mines and run away hoping they kill something. There are big problems with conjuration too and the game isn't optimized properly so glitchers can take advantage of it. People who get killed constantly would probably just leave the game straight away. I'm also extremely disappointed that the tournament turned into a competition to see who's the best instead of a fun event to try and encourage activity. They almost completely ignored my suggestions to fix up the tournament and there are flaws that favor the worst kinds of players. Toxic players will just worm their way into anything they want unless fort is actually fixed up and given life again. And you'll find there are more people opposed to the idea of fixing fort than people supporting it because only the people who are aggressive and call people noob and insult others while they play are happy with fort staying the same, because it's completely mindless and they're happy as long as it never changes. To restate what solfn had said, Weapons are so unbalanced that players will never get chance test out other weapons and combinations to create NEW playstyles of their own. Its will also influence the idea that More kills means that your pro. He implies that many people are self centered and only think about themselves and what they do in the game, and having the game not change would benefit them by using the over used weapons like spas 12, mp5, and M40 A1. I also have to agree with how the Tournaments like International Fort tournament 2016 that are being made are merely for the use of finding the arrogant players that don't want change, the "Pros" of Fort. Their pretty vulnerable since one person helping to host these competitions can change the whole purpose of the event. It would help if we were to get players to realize how much more fun this game can be even if you can't use the Over used weapons you've been using for eternity. (2)Factors for updates (2.1) Profit Now profit is why they've made games in the first place. They make games hoping that they can make money. But because they've been slowing down on updates, they must not be making money. This is what we need to help them with before they can start on future projects. (2.2)Ideas This one is pretty simple, they have a suggestions page just for this. However are the valid? Will we actually use this update for a long time? Most people want the Zombie update and it is a good idea. However from the mode itself are we going to keep playing it? This is why we have polls to see what people think. Are the ideas for future updates a really good idea? (3) How to get them to notice us? [3.1]Recruit! We need to invite more players to play forto, if we only have 200 players a day they're not going to get profit. If they see that we can get up to 400-700 ranges they are sure to find some way to make profit. More people means more opinions on updates. [3.2]Advertise! You might not know but Fortoresse tribes were made for reasons. One of which was to advertise forto. If people see that there are actually tribes for this game then it must be a good game. Once people start getting into the game they are sure to join the tribes. [3.3] Innovation We need to innovate good ideas for the creators to use. We can't just sit back and just put one suggestion. We need to figure if they are actually valid. Such putting polls on discussions to see if people actually want this update. We need the communities opinions. I still think a "map editor" could help. I think custom maps as well as some cool special mechanics is something that's helped TFM to continue to last. I had hopes for zombies being released alongside Dead Maze (back when Tig's original concept had multiple monster types), but now that Dead Maze seems to just be another zombie game, my hopes are low that Fort will get them. As far as profit, people have suggested that they release fraise purchases in their other games, but Meli stated (in regards to Nekodancer): Meli a dit : So that, combined with the fact they probably don't have enough players on these games to warrant creating special things for them (since not everyone will buy), probably dooms Fortoresse to remain dead unless it somehow it magically becomes popular on it's own. So basically it needs work to become popular, but to get work needs to be popular =p As far as [3.3], a good number of these have happened since Fort has become dead, and none of these matter so long as Fort remains dead. I hope that after Dead Maze is released they might give some love to their other games, but odds are they will all then focus on TFM mobile, and module 801. We need both a dev who has time, and need the company to decided their time is not better spent on a newer product. Off-topic, but I still think (I mentioned it to someone long ago) that Atelier 801 accounts should be able to have a "global" tribe (like now) as-well-as game-specific tribes. The tribe themselves would not have to be 1-or-the-other, but if you don't want to have to create a second account to join a game-specific tribe, this would allow you to join it just for this game (and would show both in your profile). |

Fewfre a dit : In response to the map editor, I'm not sure on how people would be able to actually create maps for forto since the mechanics and designs are much more complex than your typical tfm map creator. Only a few people are artistic enough to make maps as GOOD as the maps we have now.I only imagine them giving you the option of what size you want the map to be and a pixel generator with adjustable colors. There will also be some problems where the unbalanced distance for one Spawn they have to dig miles to get the the flag capture and the other can simple walk down. For this we also need mods who are experience in forto to verify the balance of the maps. I forgot to mention, but my main concern is whether or not we are trying hard enough to invite players to forto. Of course more players means that they can figure whether or not fraises are a good idea for the game. With more players in the game we can find more qualified people to become mods. To sum up my response, WE NEED TO TRY HARDER TO ADVERTISE. forto. We also need some sort of other type of profit they can make besides their games. I suggest advertising things unrelated to the genre of any of ateliers games. It all starts of from interest from the community. The last time fort had its major update was when the popularity of the game skyrocket. We already have TIg who was really hyped about Forto from the start. Map editor: -The map editor itself would probably just be an image uploader (with a max/min size), with the ability to then place landmarks (spawn, flag(s), etc) as desired. And for the testing before publish, you would maybe have to go to enemy spawn / to flag(s), and be directed to different areas on the map (to make sure what is solid should be solid). - Not all that many TFM maps are super good artistic marvels. The point is to add new maps and things to do via the community! (I figure the bigger issue is people trying to put up inappropriate maps) I mean, I'm no artist but I've made some maps (see "Player Made Maps" thread), which I figure are better than no new maps like now. - Having mods / map crew (fort version) check the maps would be great, and I'm all for that. - Balancing is an issue, but it's not like all the official maps are that that greatly balanced (Like map 20, which if the defenders actually go up is an easy defend (since the attackers have to trudge across the maps), while also being horrible for defense if they don't go up since by default the terrain leads right up to the flag for attackers). So I figure the "vote" system would take care of this for the most part, and a "map crew" would lock really good ones. - Custom maps could also introduce Tribe houses, which could be cool :) - Would also give something to do with potatoes (and making the publish cost high would prevent too many spam maps) Fort is on kongregate which may help get some players if there's a way to advertise it on there, and if anyone knows of a lets-player that plays these types of games, that could also help. But while I do agree we need to advertise it, without some verbal support from Tig that the game may get future updates, it may be hard to get people to stick around (since unlike TFM, we can't make maps, modules, etc to make it interesting ourselves). |

I actually really like that idea. Map editor would help get the game more interesting to play, however it wouldn't increase the number of players. However i do believe that Veteran players should be teaching the knowledge of the game. Its scary what can happen in the future if we have an abundance of players who don't have any advance knowledge of the game. Like Thomas Jefferson a dit : We can't have players ignorant if were going to have strong and persuasive opinions on updates of the game. We would rather have players who are some what familiar of what needs to be changed in the game and what is needed. If players are not aware of ideas that can be OP or game modes that DIDN'T appear to be FUN as they thought it would be, basically we will expect what never was and never will be a GOOD idea. True, map editor wouldn't -increase- number of players directly, but might help us retain more. If we advertise the game, it doesn't matter if hardly any new players actually "stick". -In-game: I'll gladly teach people who care, but I find (now and days) either people don't care for specifics and just prefer to be bottom feeders, or already know the basics and prefer to figure stuff out on their own. Plus I rarely find English speakers as much anymore. But I think the wiki / many of the forum guides help a bit with this, since they offer knowledge to those who seek it. -On forum: I think we as a community do fairly well considering how relatively few people play compared to Transformice. We are a fairly active forum for our size, and people will often discuss / debate which shows people still care. The biggest problem of course is getting newer players to check the forum, but that's kinda on them; can't force someone to want to become more familiar with community ideas / etc. |

Well... Advertising... Getting Front-page in Kongregate would help lots. Also, someone could try high-staking and keep trying to contact WarOwl or Tasselfoot. They play "random" games sometimes. If not, there are a few Fortoresse youtubers and some Transformice youtubers. Winamice is one of them. Getting those Transformice youtubers to record 1 or 2 Fortoresse gameplays could get us some new periodic players. You see... There are not many options when it comes to money-free Advertising. Well the thing is they have their reasons to. Such as the listed above. It'll just be a waste of money to put production into this game if only 200 people play. Fort can provide a new player up to 2 months of fun and adventuring. After that they become less active. However 2 months is enough for them to realize that updates are needed. With that help from new players we may be able to bring in more players needed for the updates on Fort and bring more power to the community. |

A little trick we could try using is to convince as many players as we can to go on Kongregate and atleast load the page 1 time a day. That will bring it to a less "far away" page at "Multiplayer" section. There are already guys that play in Kong, but they are few. Just by making people pass by this link would, someday, get it to a better page. Right now i can't even find it. But i already got some friend in Kongregate to play it. And, if getting any Youtuber to play it would not be viable. at least putting the game in a better spot in a crowded site as Kongregate would help. |

It makes me sick to walk into fortoresse and see that everyone is mindless and nobody is playing cleverly or thinking about what they do anymore like it used to be before all the updates. Either you join in the mindless play and pick up a spas or you just leave.
