I really liked Kimi no na wa and definitely thought it was one of the best anime movies I've ever seen.

I saw the comment above, though, and will be watching Koe no Katachi later today. We'll see which one I end up rating higher.

I've seen kiwi no na wa recently too but I feel like I'm the only person who didn't really care for it(?) and dropped it halfway through.
I mean, it was pretty much okay and the visuals were the best part of the movie for me. But other than that, it was hardly as good as the Ghibli movies for example.

So I finished watching Koe no Katachi ("The Shape of Voice"), which is a 2 hour long anime movie and I very highly recommend it. It made me cry multiple times.

Spoiler

It follows a boy name Shoyo Ishida who bullied a deaf girl in 3rd grade named Shoko Nishimiya. Then when someone comes into class after Nishimiya has transferred schools to talk about bullying, all of Ishida's friends left him and nobody talked to him again.
Then in his high-school days he meets Nishimiya again and slowly becomes friends with her but refuses to acknowledge he loves her the more he spends time with her because he constantly still feels guilt and regret for what he did in the past.

A small trigger warning, by the way. The topic of suicide and self-hate is a common mention/implication in the movie.

I'm gonna watch it, because they actually recommended me this, really hope It's good!!

E: Thank you Spaz for telling yeah about this anime, It's wonderful cried so many times, It was heartbreaking watching what he did to her, how the rest treated her. I really recommend people this anime.

Watched Koe no Katachi with my tribe yesterday. Fantastic all-around. My favorite film is probably still Kimi no Na wa tho.

I hate Atsuko "Akko" Kagari so, so much. she doesn't deserve Ursula. I admit the scene where she finds out what Lyonne meant was really touching though

Only Koi to Uso and New Game!! for now

I've nearly finished the Magi series so does anyone have any good animes to recommend.

To me, Kimi no Nawa seemed more entertaining than Koe no Katachi, but that doesn't automatically make it the better movie. I liked Koe no Katachi more because it has a great plot, and it's an emotional roller coaster for the (main) characters. It seemed more developed too. Both movies have amazing symbolism and I enjoyed watching every second of them.
