A hugbox is a derogatory term for a community (usually on the internet) where there is a general consensus over many opinions on various issues. It is a place where everyone agrees on almost everything and, as a result, the discussion there consists of endless circlejerking, which leads to those same opinions being reinforced and those who disagree being promptly removed from said group.

A hugbox mentality is the desire of a person/group to only hear opinions which match theirs and utterly disregard any others. By "growing hugbox mentality of tweens" I meant the decreasing integrative complexity tweens online appear to have - in other words, they refuse to debate or even listen to opinions which differ from theirs and are quick to ignore or block the person that disagrees.

This also relates to people who refuse to reconsider their opinions on matters, even when presented with a strong argument to the contrary (despite the fact that one's thoughts on various subjects altering once they're out-bested by opposing sides in a debate being a crucial part of intellectual development). I once even heard a ridiculous analogy on the cafe that presenting your disagreement with someone's opinion was equivalent to preventing someone drawing because you're rubbing out their linework and doing it for them. Some people evidently think 'this is my opinion' is a magical phrase which means they can't be disproved, in spite of all logic pointing to certain opinions being straight-out wrong (e.g. "the world is flat").

Like, why should it matter to anyone if some child is holding an iPhone or an iPad? Why should it matter to anyone if some girl is wearing a tight skirt, crop tops, etc...

I mean, if these people aren't doing anything wrong and their choices don't affect you in any way. What is the problem??

But there's a few things that don't annoy me,
I can't say i hate "Born in the wrong generation" because that's sort of how i feel. I wish i was back in the 2000's, they have good music instead of the fucking "anaconda" and "Bad blood" crap.

At the halloween dance at my school last year be like-

..Now that i'm thinking about it, your right. I rely on music a lot, probably because i don't really have anybody i want to hang out with anymore. Their just too..modern for me. Don't currently have a best friend or anything, so i guess i rely on music more than the average person does, i will admit that.

Just point them out then, or describe them. If there's only 11 people in your class you have to have some vague idea of how to identify them. Also, if your school doesn't like to be unfair why would they punish people who didn't do anything?

Either way, if it bothers you so bad it wouldn't hurt to take one for the team.
