Sonicherois a dit : The admins have stated in the past that they wouldn't announce every single update anymore, because they're updating stuff on such rate that it would become a burden to constantly have to inform the community about every tiny update. Would you rather have them constantly write update posts instead of actually fixing and updating the game? Mousechris a dit : You don't know that. Just because there was a period where only staff could try out name changes, that doesn't mean there can't be another beta test where normal players can use the name change feature aswell. Puffpapa a dit : It's very easy to compare Atelier801 to a billion dollar company with enough money to fund an entire public relations department. Your comparison is not realistic at all. |

Anythin a dit : Did you just fail to recognize the analogy because you were too busy being overwhelmed by my comparison? L.O.L.Z. You don't need a public relations department to be able to communicate with your audience. Plus, saying that 801 isn't at all comparable to a company like Apple in that fashion is kind of berating to 801 since they have associated their posts with hype in the past. Need I take you back to those mouse testimonies in the shaman items release announcement that Sydoline posted? |

Anythin a dit : While I do remember them stating that, it still did fall to the point, where anything that is not event related is not being written at all with an exception of a few bug fixes |

Anythin a dit : I don't think anyone really expects them to post every single update (i.e bug fixes). But it's much better to keep the players in the loop for more visible updates. Anythin a dit : Do you really think writing a forum post takes hours? |

puffpapa a dit : That's right, but what you do need is time, deadlines and manpower to be able to maintain these kind of "hypes". There is no point in hyping up the community when there's no clear date of release of the particular update. Just look at this name change update, people were hyped up about this years ago. This hype quickly turned into disappointment and anger when the announced name change feature never seemed to happen. The admins learned from their mistakes in the past and stopped hyping up the community, because more often than not they couldn't stick to their own deadlines. In my view a good decision. Sonicherois a dit : If there's not much to tell the public, why should you need an entire new thread for every single thing? The small announcements thread was created to keep people informed without cluttering the announcements subforum with 1 sentence posts. This thread covers a lot of recent updates, more than simply bug fixes. Granted, this isn't as visible as having big articles on the homepage, but like I said if there's not much to tell there's no point in making a big announcement for it. Cyberkid a dit : No, it doesn't. But having to keep track whether or not every update has been communicated with the public can be quite bothersome when updates follow up rapidly. |

i think they should try to keep us informed, besides announcing more frequently, they can try to announce stuff every few weeks or so or whenever they have time to do it xD idk |

sofianosm a dit : It would be cool if they could use a similar method from the forums where the important threads are permanently noted on the top where it can't be removed. Allowing this on the cafe would allow people to read it, but not comment to prevent spam |
