The demographic of Steven Universe is generally pointed at everyone (with a market for children), similarly a point I would like to make is how Disney's aimed not only toward children but toward adults and those in between, even though some of its market is to appeal to young viewers.

However despite this even Disney (which the common mind would assume is only for children- yet is for those of all ages) also has many instances where they include and appeal those of the LGBT+ community in plenty of their films.

It's surely nothing new, Steven Universe makes it slightly more apparent, which isn't any issue as long as its viewers and fans are able to keep an open mind while watching. While that's being said it teaches younger fans to be open minded and more accepting toward others whom are authentically expressing who they are today.

Truly not much an issue, but it's unfortunate you feel that way. Again, it's your opinion but of anything I think the ship is pretty okay.
