Standalone is the steam version, you do not need Adobe Flash to play on it as the browser or exe version (the one you can download from browser) require Adobe Air/Flash.

Well, Adobe's really pulling a move on a lot of companies that still rely on Flash for their products.
Not only Transformice will meet its' demise, but also a lot of sites that host Flash games.
Did they even think of anything to take Flash's place? Since it will be dead, usually they should've offered an alternative.
I hope by 2020 they will do that.

However, in spite of this announcement, I believe Atelier will find a solution to this major issue.

If they remake the game on another platform, do we still get the same gaming experience? Or there will be major changes in game? What will happen to our progress we made currently and our statistics? we have to start from the beginning?
(sorry, idk about these technical stuffs regarding gaming and programming or whatever)

They still need Flash to be packaged with them, I am unfamiliar with the Steam version of the game so I am unsure if it packages it with them or if it uses the Flash installed to your system.

There is, and has been a replacement to Flash for more than 3 years, HTML5. Companies have been migrating to it, which is what has caused Flash to be less used, so there is no reason really for Adobe to continue pouring money into a dying technology.

Depends how well recoded the game is. If done well, there should be less problems, however, I imagine a lot of people Atelier hired are intimately familiar with ActionScript/Flash studio, so recoding the game from scratch might not be feasible. Progress, etc. will be still the same. Especially prestige.

And you say that thinking you know AS2 or AS3. SWFs are independent of the language itself.

Why do I feel
So dead

I just now realize how much I love this game, if transformice shuts down, I'll lose a lot of friends as well. I trust the admins to find a solution, and hopefully, and possibly adobe will give us something to help the websites ( which is QUITE A LOT ) with flash.

Meli said it'll still be available on standalone, maybe it'll just become a game that requires a download? There's quite a few like that.
