The future of it is what it deserves, the developers and admins could've made many better decisions and listened more to prolong the longevity of the game a tiny bit longer but they really didn't want to do that. It sucks because the game itself was really fun but it is what it is.

Transformice is virtually dead.

This game is not attractive for the new generations, who don't even have the habit of using desktop since you can do anything throught mobile and the few ones who actually uses it probably prefer most known games like Fortnite, Minecraft or whatever the children of nowadays likes to play. Most of the current players are people who got the habit of play this game throught the years, people who log on just for nostalgia and some players who don't have a good setup to play heavy games. Also, at the last years, the administration (aka Tig) apparently don't cared to update this game in a way to make it more attractive for new players. It has not a good tutorial, it's not competitive-friendly (we don't even have a proper rank!) and it's based on Adobe Flash Player, a discontinued tecnology. For a game who, at the golden age of 2011~2014, usually made about 50k simultaneous players on regular days (and got a peak of 86k simultaneous people online at the 2012 Halloween event), it's end is just unstoppable. Sadly.

It has always been a nostalgic place for me. Sometimes I play it with my friends to remember those days.

with most of the players being from early 2000s kids and late 1990s, most of us have grown up and is working now and with the web games being outdated followed by other genre games being popular than a platform game like TFM, its hard to get players. But TFM will always be special, they could make a mobile version of TFM so more people can discover it. Tbh the main problem is that this game is catered to kids and among other atelier 801 games too, so its harder as well to get an adult to play this game. Transformice adventure was different though, it was actually something adults could play and i can see myself playing but they didnt get enough money to continue the development of the game :/

It is sad but I don't think there's anything they can do. It's just another era now.

I’ve seen worse games get by a lot longer. As long as the server’s up, I think you’ll still see a player base. At least, enough to fill a room.

This game needs to allow volunteers to make updates. It's 2024 and the game is rasterised and running with a resolution of 800x600 when most people use at least 1920x1080 screens. There is an active community of indie gamers and users who don't have high equipment or even the money to buy other games, so I believe that Transformice still has the potential to be popular among such an audience. As for me, the game died with the introduction of shaman skills and the server update.

this simple: as long as someone cares and theyre getting the money the game is gonna be as it is. idk for popularity, i dont want the game to be full of annoying tiktok people, so its fine the way it is. how is the game dead when it still has the same amount of players since the beginning? a friend of mine has been playing from the start and said nothing has changed. its just the forums that aren't really active and a little less mice in the rooms. i hope it doesnt change. i do wish for these forums to be more active though. theres no ads for the game too so...

Well, it is so funny that people are complaining it's simplicity and never changing structure yet loving the nostalgia side. We saw what happened to the games who tried to be 'current'... If it had changed, nobody would had been visiting this game. In case it's going to die, I will make a server which going to resemble the 2010 version of TFM which was the coolest version after 2012 Halloween times.

Fairly certain this game will die out in the next 4 ish years (they already basically don't update it, theirs no way they are more than breaking even on the micro transactions). Hopefully they will throw a grand-closing party like club penguin, so it can go out with a bang and not a whimper. I don't have huge faith in the developers though, based on how all their other games went, it seems like the success of this game was a fluke. Still, much respect to them for the likely thousands of hours I spent playing this game 2011-2013. Best flash game ever, and it's not even close.

Unfortunately, as a grown adult I can't replicate my feelings playing this game again back in middle school. I will never see my old friends on here. We will never hang out in the tribe house and watch movies and chat, I will never get to play the old minigames I loved that are gone, I will never get to make and share new maps with friends. I will never see the regulars from the old rooms I hung out in. I will never be excited for a shop item (I'm never changing my outfit since 2013, I love it). I will never experience another 200+ player room that slows my computer to a crawl. I will never be excited to see meli online and making drawings. It will NEVER be 2012 again.

But, I must be glad it happened.

Anyways, I have played a bit for the past couple days. I hope to make a youtube video going over all the maps I made in middle school, before this game shuts down and it becomes lost media. I put a lot of passion into those.
