You will need to use the contact form if you want to change your email and you don't have access to the old one.
Here has information on what to include in your message (you basically need to prove that its your account)

The img might be too small to fit 100x100 w/out resizing it, causing bad quality/blur.
Otherwise you might be trying to convert a high kb img to a low kb img, which also causes bad quality.
