It's not possible to align text in the vertical direction. All text is automatically aligned at the top. What you could do is use tables to create an artificial alignment in the middle of your page by utilizing the rowspan tag. This method still requires you to press enter, but it makes it easier to manage your text because the spaces and your text are in two different cells. To prevent your image from shrinking, you're also required to manually define the size of your table columns. I do this by creating an extra row of cells at the top, and filling them with as much characters as I want to get the size I need. I used some random text as filler for the examples below.

oohh i didn't know that, anythin! i think i learned something today!

also, some of us use stylish so the colour code for the background is still visible for us, BUT, transparent is considered a colour in bbcode!
for example--

Prestige is the likes (hearts you get in your posts).

You just post the link just after "=" in "[url=][/url]"
