Ares a dit : Staff deal with any situation whenever they see it. If you happen to break the rules in their presence, you will get sanctioned. Other people's behaviour is irrelevant in this case. And none of this has got anything to do with competence in any way. |

Yes and no, IMHO. As far as I remember En is an international server and assuming Ares is being honest she has all the rights to share a concern. Back from the days I remember that in the int server all languages are welcome as long as the chat is not distrupted, I may be mistaken and the rule may have changed. As long as the staff pick for some moderator (arbs as far as I can tell) in the Italian server she's kinda right tbh, we had secret staff members absolutely abusing their powers in the past. I found myself banned for 2/3 weeks because I i mentioned a website (not even posting a link be aware) PG18 in a room with 3 players, all of them not underage. This person ninja'd me as long as he managed to ban me. Same goes for another player in the past that got banned for says "Damn cristiano ronaldo". Everything because this staff member had a bias on our tribe because we kicked him out because of his toxic behaviour, and because in the past he shared private information about a player. Which is right off the bat a really stupid reason, but it makes you understand what kind of player we were dealing with, . Besides that what made the playerbase enraging is that reports to the rest of the staff was useless. Seeing almost a whole community turning on a staff member (which beware shared his arb status publicly btw) is not the best behaviour to say the least. I think that a bit of investigation must be held, meaning not just asking the mod the reason of a specific sanction, but also checking his activities live and see if there is an abusr of power or not. |

Hi, I'd just like to address a few things here. Quoting directly from the rules: a dit : While one sentence in another language may not be too disruptive in chat, it is still against the rules. As mentioned by Anythin above, if a moderator sees this, they are obligated to take action and sanction for it. Many players do not know that speaking another language on E2 is against the rules, or often connect to E2 instead of EN by mistake, which is why we give warnings. I'd also like to mention that moderators are given a guide which tells us what type/duration of sanctions to give for certain types of offenses. Xenophobia/racism/homophobia are considered by the admins to be more severe, which is why there is not a warning given for this type of sanction. Some communities stray from this guide slightly depending on what's needed, and they also have different standards for what is considered against the rules and what isn't (something that is allowed on the E2 community may not necessarily be allowed on other communities). Therefore, the E2 staff can't speak for every community. Moderators are here to protect the community, but we aren't perfect. If you feel that a moderator's actions were unjust, or that they did not handle a certain situation well, we ask that you please submit a contact form. |

Retrouvaille a dit : Just specifying, she did clarify EN2, not EN. EN2 is not international. As for the rest, it all happened before my era, I do not know of "said person", or if they are even still around, so I cannot say much!! But Anythin did word it quite nicely. If you are caught at that moment doing something bad that we deem inappropriate, we will handle it as needed. Do not reflect your own behavior off of other players that you may have seen being bad elsewhere. We cannot be everywhere at once, just focus on what you are doing. On top of that, I notice the main point here is also the IT server (which seems to be issues that may not have even occurred this year). EN/E2 has no real control over how other communities handle their sanctions because of language barriers and what they may deem as more sensitive comments than what we do. Edit: wow. Y'all right, my bad I did not notice it was en2 :) I know how moderation works from the inside in a way that usual players can not, and I know the moderation guidelines (I also gave a hand to Rype when changing some of the rules specific to the IT server) what bothered me was how things have been handled in the past (guess it was 2 years ago or something) as I've seen no empathy for the playerbase that was abused by a person. Defending a moderator against a community ignoringall proof handled to the staff by players is not the best course of action IMHO. Anyway that's all water under the bridge now. everything went back to normal after a huge bias (myself included), and there are no hard feelings between players and the staff anymore. |
