Backseat moderation is an issue because one can falsify information or pose as a mod to fool newer players. Also, sentinels are there for a reason, if anyone could moderate then why do they exist?

Falsification of information isn't the issue necessarily. Anyone can falsify info. I can falsify it right now by stating that it only takes five mice to get first. I'm not acting like a staff member at all here, just giving wrong info.
But the issue is more people acting like staff and giving them the wrong idea, like "this thread needs locking" as provided in the example. If it doesn't ACTUALLY need locking, then the OP is left confused. That's why that kind of thing is moderated.

Being helpful is different from backseating as well. You can link people in the right direction, but flat out telling them they screwed up is bad. IE:

Scenario: User asks question about map editor
- A better answer would be: to answer their question, and then say "you may get a quicker response here" and link to either this Q&A, or map editor FAQ
- A bad answer would be "Don't make threads for questions, go here or here," which is something like a sentinel would say.

Hopefully that makes sense. There's such a fine line it's easy to cross it, unfortunately.

Gus, if you've got further concerns, I'm sure a sentinel will be able to answer your question in more depth.

The report system is there for a reason - forums generally have slower discussions and things don't need to be dealt with instantly like the ingame chat may be, if a sentinel isn't online at the very second then feel free to report the post and it'll get dealt with.

The issue isn't that you were helping someone, it's that you were telling them explicitly what to do (as your warning explained). It's also explicitly against the forum rules (#15) which you agree to understand by using the forum.

If you have a problem with a member of staff or think they're misusing their position for anything, you can report it to Zou via the contact form or talk to another member of staff.

Why did price of 100 fraises if you are buying from steam jumped from 0.87€ to 0.97€ ?

Bug/Glitch do these in exact same order!

1. Change skill tree that changes cannon balls to rocks
2. Make totem of the cannon balls
3. Rechange skill tree WITHOUT the rock cannons
4. Use totem, rocks turn to size of a cannon ball?

This may not work I'm not sure but why does this happen?
