I really love the way you suggested this feature and I honestly find it incredibly useful because I've happened to lose many conversations in the past because something happened while playing and the game dropped me off completely at random, and I still do!
I totally /support this, really nice idea and I think it would be indeed better if the input box shouldn't be there at all as it doesn't have a purpose after you disconnect, anymore.

Maybe a better solution would be if the game just didn't disconnect so often. Then this wouldn't be needed.

Every Internet has those days. Every Internet makes mistakes. No Internet's perfect.

Yeah, because there's totally an easy way of making the game not crash. Mhm.
It's not like there are a billion factors as to why your game can crash or disconnect.
