I had a question raised via DMs on Discord whether or not the likes on a post will impact the jury voting - whilst we do appreciate the thoughts of the general public, likes can easily be manipulated and end up coming from friends etc. giving an unfair advantage, hence why they aren't going to be focused on when we vote. What I might do this year is look at whether the ones with highest amount of likes have been the jury-favourites at the end of the competition. |

What about making the "audience's choice" place in the next competition? As I understand - likes do nothing to juri, but maybe the submission with the highest amount of likes will be at least mentioned at the end of the competition with a small gift of 200 cc |

"Likes" can be abused. If someone has a bunch of alts or something they can easily rack up "likes". New accounts could also be created to abuse this. Due to the way the "like" system works there would be no real way of telling which ones were legit and which ones weren't, especially when you take VPNs in to consideration. Each like would have to be manually verify for every post and that isn't realistic at all. Also, much like the election system, using likes promotes spamming in game and other kinds of abuse (example: tribes spam voting for tribe members only). Attaching a prize to likes is just an incentive to do things like that. Dernière modification le 1583842740000 |

Oh. I put my question on the contest. Anyways, how do you create these furs? |

Bhvana a dit : 1. Find the base on the first post of the contest 2. Download the base 3. Open the base in a drawing program 4. Color and draw your entry 5. Download your finished entry 6. Post your entry in the contest thread using forum bbcode and imgur |

Bhvana a dit : Have no fear, the Barb is here, to help you. Well, first of all, you need an idea for a fur. Will it be a broccoli? An ostrich? A tennis fur? Whatever you have in mind, try to imagine how it would look like as a fur. Then, you should really gather some reference material, google images and similar image search sites can really help, or perhaps you have some picture that gave you the idea in the first place. Don't forget Tineye, it's a useful tool, but lately it's been sort of a sellout... Anyway. Time to start creating. Use a free or... "free" image processing program, whatever you are comfortable with, or even by hand I suppose. You have to get there, it doesn't matter how you'll get there. Well, grab the reference image that the contest thread offers, the vanilla mouse picture, that .png file. Png files allow you to save an image with transparent parts, that's vital. Avoid jpeg like the plague. Ok, so you start using your drawing software. They key is to work with layers, it will really make your life easier. Images upon images upon images, that's what layers are, basically. You have to consider your base image, before colors are part of the game. Make the necessary modifications on the vanilla mouse, if any, on the black lines all around and the shadows too. Don't hesitate to use other existing furs for reference, if you see some part you like, copy it! All great artists do that, trust me. :P Don't be afraid to copy colors, body parts, shapes... Anything you think can make your fur better. But stay true to your goal, don't end up with just a cheap copy of someone else's fur. Well then, if you have your outlines ready, you should be ready to move to coloring. Again, you can copy whole textures and colors from images, furs, etc. if your drawing hand is not so strong. And of course work with layers too, it's almost mandatory. I am not getting into much detail but yeah, you will find your way I am sure, just start from somewhere and you'll soon learn how to crop, enlarge, rotate, select images and parts of images, along with a dozen other functions necessary to a competent designer. The more you work at it, the better you'll become. Good luck! |

Hi. I made 2 furs. The first is for birthday so it is a cake, and the second is similar because I always wanted a sweet skin (candy, cupcakes). Will this be a problem? (I'm sorry, i use translator) My entry in the competition post is # 337 ( https://atelier801.com/topic?t=886391&f=6&p=17&n=#m337 ) Dernière modification le 1584575580000 |

Lane a dit : You can submit your fur in the free theme section part of the contest, you don't have to make a second fur for the 10 year anniversary. |

Good morning! Please, help me. I have a doubt :( I want to know if my furs are in theme, especially the birthday fur. They are in the page 12. Let me know if I have to make changes or not. Thanks! (I'm not an English native speaker, so excuse me if I commit mistakes x.x) |

Phycoatl a dit : They seem fine to me, but if you still doubt, let's wait for an official answer. |

Phycoatl a dit : Your entry looks fine to be considered Birthday themed. It doesn't necessarily have to be a cake! :) LATE EDIT: I've also got a couple of questions via DMs about the special item. I can't reveal it to you until it actually comes out in-game, but let me make it clear that you should not be expecting a free fur. Dernière modification le 1584816840000 |

Should I post my second fur in a new post, or should I edit the post of my first fur and add the second one too? It's a few pages back... Does it matter either way? |

Barberserk a dit : Please post it in the same one as it makes my life a little bit easier, I'll double check all the entries at the end anyway, if they've been changed etc. |

I've posted this on Discord already, and this finding is quite staggering to say the least. As I've had a lot of time on my hands recently, I thought to look at all the entrants (accepted and unaccepted entrants) in this and the last 3 create a fur contests over the first 23 day period of the contest. Data obtained As can be seen in the data, this year's create a fur contest is leading the way by quite a margin and I'm incredibly thankful for that! This also means that the competition is a lot tougher this year. We did start off slow unlike in 2018's CAF where in the first 2 days we were already at around 40-50 entrants but we've rapidly climbed and are over a record-breaking 200 entrants thus far. It was also interesting to find that both, 2016 and 2017 CAF's had a similar entrant count at this point in the contest, I would have expected 2017 to have more entrants at this point. |

My lynx is ready! Damn I wasted hours upon hours on it and it still looks half-assed, haha. Anyway, Good luck to everyone, I also agree there are plenty of awesome furs submitted, I do not envy the jury's task of choosing. |

Can we just submit one fur, or are we required to submit two? |
