STOP THE CURSING!!

Having a filter is better than having none at all, but the filter could definitely be better than what it is now. However, there are loopholes to everything and adding to the filter won't change that.

Have seen various people arguing that children play this game so cursing should be banned.
It shouldn't be banned, and I doubt ever will because even if children who can not handle cursing play this game, fact is this game is not meant for them.
This game is meant for people 13+. Once most people are 13, they are able to handle cursing and if anything, are at the age they start cursing more often. If they do not wish to see any cursing, they have the option to turn it off (and it is not hidden as the filter is automatically on when you start in the first place). Most 13 year olds have enough brains to know when to ignore or filter cursing, and they're never forced to witness it. No one is.

Cursing should not be banned because there are children on this game. The children that should be on this game are old enough to know how to handle cursing, and the children that shouldn't be this game, put it simply, shouldn't be on this game.
If cursing were to be banned because of the infestation of 7-12 year olds, who do not have proper parental supervision, who shouldn't be here in the first place; it'd be ridiculous and Transformice would lose many players. The game would become no more different than Animal Jam or Club Penguin.
Imagine if COD stopped including realistic violence in its games because of all the children below 18 who play it. The game would change immensely, and it'd lose almost all of its following.

Banning cursing on Transformice is changing the entire game's target demographic and risking, hell, guaranteeing the loss of players the game has gained over the years. There are filters to avoid cursing, and an age recommendation that targets people who can handle cursing and know how to deal with it if they can't. The game, although its cartoony look, is not meant for children below 13. Their complaints over something they shouldn't be on in the first place shouldn't even be considered at all.

I know if we didn't curse, people would follow the good example. However, this game is 13+, people were warned about it so technically you can't blame people for cursing. You can ask a parent as well before you join but the factor is that no matter how good of an example you set out there, It's not gonna be life changing enough. Life is hard, we all hoped for the good, innocent life once but nothing ever lasts forever.

People can also just use the filter, but unfortunately some curses go through the filter. Personally, I know a few kids that are older that happen to be very sensitive. I don't mean to get off topic but the factor is that Transformice is most likely never gonna ban the cussing. I'm surprised nobody has stopped this topic from being used over and over again, considering this request is not gonna be able to be used.

If you don't like people cursing, ignore them, wouldn't recommend asking them to stop directly.
Like others have said, the game is 13+, which allows the use of curse words. Otherwise just quit the game completely and it won't be a problem anymore.

I'm okay with people swearing, as long as they don't try to shove it into every sentence they use. (Usually 10 year olds who only just found out about the words, and they're trying to be "cool and edgy")

I do know that the game is for people 13+, and little kids shouldn't really be playing it..

But can you blame them for not knowing?

It's a mouse game, and the sign up page doesn't really make it too obvious that it's 13+. (And honestly, who reads the Terms of use?) Maybe a little note on the sign up screen saying something along the lines of "In this game, swearing is allowed, so it is not recommended for children under 13."

If you don't like swearing then just stop looking at chat and focus on the game instead.
I understand if someone is directly attacking you with swear words, but other than that, It shouldn't be your problem.
They're just words. Even "antelope" could be interpreted as swearing if you say it angrily enough.

If your 14, you should be able to handle cursing, regardless if your Christian. You can't stop cursing, there are too many people out there doing it, and Transformice doesn't have time for that. Either use the language filter, or just find a different language server and go there so you won't know what people are saying.

I can handle cursing, i see people do it all the time, so when they do, i add them to the blacklist (or ignore list)

That's the reason you don't ask directly. Just use the ignore button on them.

I really don't know - I'm a bit younger than 13, but honestly, I handle the cursing - and the swearing (including bullying). I think its ok - but I really do think that Transformice should censor the word "b****" and "s***". Those words can be a bit too much.. I mean, being a proper teen is like, nothing BAD, but just keep in mind that this isn't teens only - kids like me play this... and they don't know about cursing until they see it. After all, the game is kid friendly - for kids UNDER 13 as well. Cos, like, the game doesn't warn you that this is 13+, does it? Right, I think what I have said is pretty decent - for a 10 year old. Yes, I agree, language filters could work, but I'm talking about what me and others have to handle. Those two words I thought should be censored - I won't say no. I am insisting that Transformice should add this - although once again, you can use language filters.
