Hello, It is currently not possible to change your name. There is an update expected soon that will allow you to change your name, but the release date for that update has not been announced. If I have time I will edit this to link you to the thread discussing that. Edit: here is that thread. Dernière modification le 1453400520000 |

I messaged a mod earlier about my ban and i thought it was too long because it was a 14 day ban and i think that's a little unfair, the mod hasn't replied back to me yet so i was wonder if a different mod could help me with my ban |

mirathbeauty a dit : Only the mod who banned you can handle it. Be patient, as they could be busy. |

If there are no mods in my current server (I'm in EN and no one is on) and my room has a hack/spam issue, is there nothing I can do but report and wait? |

cantavi a dit : For hacks, all mods will/can handle (that's why poor Turkish mods end up on ES so much lol). In regards to spam, reporting should suffice but you can contact a handful of mods who speak English who can help or can contact a secret arb/mod for EN. Dernière modification le 1453834140000 |

Spam is pretty much like hacking in that it's not community specific at all actually. Even if you don't speak the language it's pretty easy to tell that someone is spamming so with that you can also contact any mod. |

Veralidaine a dit : I've attempted to report spam before to foreign moderators and was told to use /report and wait for an EN so they knew what was going on since they didn't completely comprehend English -- hence why I said what I did. |

Feel free to contact any mod, however be aware of the demands other players are placing on the mod as well. |

I'm largely aware, but that still doesn't help the fact they said they wouldn't handle it since they weren't 100% with their English. Thanks anyway. |

Moderators are hired on to help specific communities. It is completely up to the mod whether or not they feel comfortable moderating in other communities. While spam may be an easy one to spot no matter the language, it's sometimes important to know what is being said in the spammed messages. |

Then maybe it should be left to mods of that community to moderate? I mean, logic would dictate any form of a chat vio should be handled by a mod of that community.. Not trying to be combative, it just seems silly and now I'm just confused about this lol. |

How many of these mods were like 'Nah I can't help you I don't speak the language' because if you are dragging this out and pushing your point just to come off as correct over like one or two incidents you're probably spreading some kind of misinformation. It's entirely possible the mod didn't want to deal with you and/or EN at that time in the way EN mods might ignore reports from BR for anything less than Hacking or child porn or something if they have a lot to deal with on their community. It is silly to keep pushing this point. Both sides feel silly because someone is trying to help you and you are trying to repel that help as far as what to do in a situation that calls for common sense. If spam really bothers you and /ignore isn't an option you're willing to use (I don't like using it either though so I feel ya). Spam isn't hard to read, unless it is that weird Navy seals paste thing that throws a bunch of people off letter spam or repeating the same thing with alternating number of periods is pretty easy to handle. If a mod doesn't want to deal with it or says they can't ask another, use /report as they suggest. It is a grey area, nobody can supply you with a black and white answer I'm afraid. Sorry to disappoint you, but I already do what you're suggesting, and did such because I had been given the impression over the years by multiple members of non-EN staff that they wouldn't handle chat in EN unless it was a big issue. I'm not even attempting to push a point, but rather maybe start some kind of discussion amongst staff because if one mod says "report it to anyone and they'll handle it," then another says "it depends on mod," then if anything, that is the misinformation, no? I'm, of course, not implying either are giving misinformation, but if mods aren't on the same page as something this small I can't help but wonder what else they're not on the same page on. If sentinels can't handle other communities except for extreme circumstances (ie - private server, porn/screamer, etc) which as a general rule don't require a grasp of the language, why can't moderators do the same? |

With all due respect you aren't the person in any position to bring up and push for such a thing, no? If the mod teams felt that it needed to be looked into someone would have brought it up, maybe it has been brought up for all you know which brings us back to the whole thing being a grey area. Also modding forum =/= modding the game. They are not nearly in the same league of responsibility or mass of work inquiries so to speak so it is very logical that there are more restrictions on what they can and should be doing, especially because forum behavior is largely dictated but what you're saying. I merely chimed in because I was watching someone struggle to answer your question while you came off as completely unwilling to accept anything other than confirmation things would be done your way. |

I wasn't "unwilling to accept anything other than my way." You definitely misread my posts. Confusion =/= unwillingness. Queerie a dit : Eh? I care to disagree. Moderation is moderation, the only difference is sentinels don't have people clamouring at them every second to read their whispers. There's still a lot of work that goes into it, especially in larger communities like BR. Queerie a dit : Then all I have to be told is to mind my own business and I've got it, however I've brought up things like this to staff before and nobody's batted an eyelash. I'm done here, personally. If you'd like to continue, then PMs are a thing; but this is Staff FAQ, not Haru&Queerie FAQ. |

Forum moderation is really not the same as in-game moderation on Transformice, but you can only know that if you actually have experience with it. In regards to the discussion, there's really no point for this heated debate because what it comes down to really is players shouldn't be discouraged to contact foreign moderators to help with spam issues. In most cases they will be able to help out, but in those few cases where they cannot, for whatever reason, you can use other tools to your disposal (the report feature) until a moderator of your own community logs in. In general most moderators comprehend English pretty well, even if they say they don't. |
