Anythin a dit : You know that's never going to happen. Not just with TFM, even just the internet in general, or even life if you put it that way. If there weren't so many killers and robbers out there, we wouldn't need cops. You have to plan for the worst. I think A801 should have found people willing to staff newly formed communities before just creating them out of the blue. |

Gamegamerlol a dit : In their defense, they did have an Italian mod prior to the creation of the server, but he's fallen inactive. In cases like other servers, however, I agree. Many of them are still largely unstaffed. |

Let's change subject. There is a way to glitch away the voteban. Is that a glitch or some hack? |

Gamegamerlol a dit : The staff team has tried to find moderators for new communities prior to their opening, however, there are a lot of good reasons to open a community without having any staff for them. For one, opening these communities can actually increase the chance to find staff for the particular server because the candidates would otherwise have fallen into anonymity in one of the bigger communities. It's not that people are not willing to be part of the staff of a new community, most of them simply aren't suitable for different reasons (age, behaviour, etc). However it should be noted that it has often occured that staff members from these sparsely moderated communities have been removed or have resigned from their position before they had the possibility to become public. So just because there are no public staff members there, that doesn't mean there have not been candidates and nothing has happened to try to solve the problem. |

Haruhitastic a dit : The Italian server had a mod, but what about the other communities that were created along with the Italian Community? I remember RO being without a moderator for quite some time, almost a year if I'm correct. Has AR ever had a mod? What about CZ, EE, SK, BG? I'm not talking about just moderators, what about Sentinels? Sure they're small communities and don't really need much attention, but it is the internet after all and everything should be looked into, including the forums. Moderation I understand a moderator from another server can look into activities such as hacking, cheating, flood, or spam. But where the forums are purely a place for discussion, whom would pay attention to keeping the forums clean? Anythin a dit : How has the staff team tried to find moderators before the community has opened? I've never seen an announcement stating they're looking for staff members specifically. Don't you think it should be more publicized prior to opening? Then maybe there wouldn't be the need to open the community without any moderators and wait months or even years without a moderator for that server. Opening the community and increasing the chance of finding someone who fits the criteria for a moderator doesn't sound like the best way of finding a moderator, there's definitely a better and more logical way of doing so. You're missing an important point: No public staff is not the same as no staff. New recruits start off as secret staff, during which the public is (preferably) not aware there have been new hirings. This period comes across as "staffless" to the outsider, but in the meantime this recruit is being trained to become a proper public moderator if he/she possesses the qualities needed. A seemingly staffless community is then in fact not staffless at all. The RO server had Pentakill as public staff when it opened. It was when he became inactive that there was trouble finding more staff, its not that there were no candidates when the RO community opened. Lastly, you can find two threads in the announcements section where it is announced that new communities are being opened and that the team is looking for translators to help develop the community. Although this isnt an explicit application notice to apply for a moderation position, it helps the staff to see which people are willing to help out their community while they don't expect any position in return. I'm not saying that all people that have translated stuff for the game are hired as staff, but generally these announcements attract different people than when there is a public announcement to hire new moderators. |

On the forum thread about moderator applications being open, it says the due date for any applications is February 22nd. On the Google Doc after you have submitted it, it says the due date is February 20th. (("Your response has been recorded. Applications close on February 20th.")) It's just an inconsistency I thought you guys should know about! |
