I don't think you're even comprehending my point because you keep going back on the same idea that the other games are more important because people play them, they review those ones every once in a while, putting defilante back onto the things they need to review wouldn't hurt anything it would only help a game grow. It's not going to change anything they'd still review the other categories, they have plenty of time and room to even give defilante just a single review, I know it isn't that hard because I've tried reviewing the category myself back when I first spoke about the problem a year ago with Barrydarsow, the problem would've been solved right then and there but no one was comfortable with the fact I wasn't a Mapcrew.

It took me a single hour, an hour, they have the time, they have the patience, it has gone on long enough. Far too long enough, long enough to the point defilante is being sunk into a hole that will be hard to ever get out of.

There are people behind Mapcrew who don't have unlimited time. You getting a perm in a category that is of low interest is less important than the crap ton of other things.
Game modes other than normal rotation and vanilla have always been like that usually. If there isn't atleast a mapcrew member who takes care of a specific category, probably no one else will.
Even the next most played game mode, bootcamp, used to struggle with perms, due to many mapcrew members not having a clue on actually choosing good bootcamp maps or low interest in that specific mode.
For the few people that play defilante, the current maps are fine imo. As I recall, defilante maps offer enough variety to not get boring for a while.
Don't rise an uproar just because you want to get a perm to show off.

any effort to keep something/someone from dying, in this case defilante is always worth the effort, even if it's just a little, and not much is needed just an hours worth, and they do that literally every day.

Is reviewing P5 worth the effort? It likely won't change anything with normal rotation, maybe add in an extra map, so why do it? Because it's the right thing to do.

No, the review would've worked where the review was to be sent to an actual Mapcrew, but just done by me.
Cheese can be added back into it in a nonabusable way and as mentioned earlier so can tokens.
No I don't play it, but I care about the map community as a whole.

It's obvious you and I will never see eye to eye. All I'm trying to say, in the nicest way possible, is just let the MC handle their job as they see fit, not as you see fit.

All-in-all, once defilante coins are added, defilante will start getting played on more often which will probably lead to P18 being reviewed more often with all the new players. P18 may not be getting reviewed now, but it is only a matter of time so be patient.

As I said in one of my previous comments, "If the defilante coins are a sure thing, you can expect more people to start playing again just to gain the coins. Most of them who has probably never even played defilante long enough to even seen most of the maps in that mode to begin with will probably have no problem at the beginning with repeated maps, this giving the mapcrew time and proper statistics to see if defilante is worth reviewing maps over again."

Once the mapcrew realizes that more and more people are playing on defilante, i'm sure they'll start the reviewing process before the current maps become a bother to majority of the new players.

and what if those coins never come? what if they do and they still don't review it because of the reasons states by barrydarsow



if this really is the issue it won't matter if coins are added because the mapcrew won't review it in fear people will spam terrible maps. It simply needs to be done before, for the sake of getting into the consistency of reviewing it. Because it doesn't just need one review or that just delays the problem, it needs like the other categories, a review just every once in a while. It can't be a "people are now playing it" issue, it has to be a "this needs to get done" issue.

Let me just ask you this Mousechris, do you really think, that if we stopped reviewing normal rotation/bootcamp/survivor/racing for over a year, people will stop playing those gamemodes?

Of course they won't. People like playing those gamemodes, and still will like playing them even if no new maps are added.

Also, MapCrew has a ton of work to do. Reviewing the normal rotation maps alone take up a lot of time. Voting on their discussion threads too. We also need to vote on apps, which sometimes can take a long time. Reviewing maps in game takes time. We also have these huge filler packs and theme packs of maps we add from time to time. It takes up a lot of time to come up with a pack of 150 maps, you know?
Some of us have jobs, or studies, so they can't really lose time for something insignificant as defilante. We also want to take some time to actually play the game and have fun, not just do mapcrew stuff daily. Besides, we've been working on something really special lately, you'll see more within the next days/weeks.

Actually yeah I think a lot would stop playing, not near as much because normal rotation is a rotation that switches up the gametype

and yes they have always had tons of work to do but defilante doesn't require voting, and the map pack was literally just an option, literally anything will do, sure it takes time but if you took 15 minutes from your day every day to review P18, it would take 4 days, just, 4 days, 15 minutes each day because it takes an hour to review the whole thing. This really isn't that time consuming.

In 2 months it will be 2 years since the last defilante review, you can't possibly say that isn't embarrassing, if I was back working at my old popcorn stand and didn't visit it for 2 years, my boss would either fire me or think I was dead.

A review can take an hour to you, but it can take up to three hours to someone else. We don't all have the same reviewing "speed". Besides, the fact that you're actually the only one complaining in 2 years that there hasn't been any review just proves how much people care about that gamemode, and shows us that we shouldn't bother reviewing it.

Yes, if defilante coins were to be added, we would most definitely go back to reviewing it, and probably make regular reviews, but as of now, I don't see any point in doing it, since it's basically a dead gamemode. And I don't see why we should continue this conversation since everything has been said over and over already. We'll just go on to repeat the same stuff again and again, so let's just stop here.

Conclusion: If defilante coins are added, we'll most definitely review the category, if not, then tough luck for that dead gamemode.

mousechris, if i apply your logic to atelier801 in general the admins should drop whatever they are working on for tfm and start developing for nekodancer, simply because that game hasn't had updates/maintenance in so long. what's more important? an updated transformice or a new fur in nekodancer? this comparison i just made is exactly proportional to what you're asking from map crew

If the coins for defilante didn't get, the category P18 will still continue? I find unnecessary to continue seeking that nobody will evaluate and people will put the maps there with intensão of being revised.

it used to be where maps were just permed from one crew, but after going back it looks like that's changed, my mistake, not all the categories get discussions btw, most do but not all, P17 for example doesn't get one, if it's good enough it's just added, P19, etc, they don't either.

Actually Nekodancer should be getting updates, I would say any day Nekodancer getting an update would always be more important, doesn't have to be a fur either, but it needs some improvement for sure, but that's for another discussion.

Ok and that's fine, so just 15 minutes a day for 12 days, better than 2 years of nothing, my point still stands it doesn't take that much effort to review just a single category, and it will only take more effort the longer the mapcrew wait. While maps are rarely submitting to P18 (mostly because people know it's not going to get reviewed or because they've already submitting something) they still are submitted.

You're all talking about "dropping what someone's working on" but this doesn't require that, it just takes a little bit of effort. P18 isn't that big a project, it's just one that hasn't been given any attention for 2 years

Those people that want perms, are those people that want to see their maps passing in the room and say '' looks my map'', and I believe that in the Brazilian server has the largest number of players in defilantes and they are more entertaining than the rooms vanilla.

Why waste time updating a game that nobody plays when there's other, more important things to do? Majority rules. You updated what the majority wants to play -- and no, it is absolutely not comparable to the Civil Rights movement or the LGBTQIA+ rights movements. Not everybody can NEET it up. People have jobs, summer school, lives outside of this game.

Barry basically said everything we're saying, and I don't know how on earth it's not clicking even with his words. Nobody even gives a shit about the game, they just want perms because apparently having permed maps on a mouse game is some sort of ego boost for them.

Defilante is dead. It's done. It's one of my fave minigames but I stopped playing, and not because of the lack of new maps -- because nobody else would play unless I went to BR and one can only stand the inane chatter of "LOL QUE LIXO VC" "NAO VC" "VSF" for so long. Back then at least two defilante rooms would be filled on BR, but now only one is.
Let the pipe dream die and realise that Map Crew has better things to do.
