Time is a factor, so are motivation and preferences. Some Map Crew members are more active regarding Map Crew duties from times to times. Also, no one is forced to review categories in the Map Submission subforums, so we don't always have to do weekly, or even monthly reviews for all categories. We'd like too, but it's just not possible, at least to guarantee it.

Every month, the racing thread is closed on the 1st of the month, the review is posted 2 weeks later and the thread is reopened.

Some classic vanilla map clones have just been added to P9 for a couple of months. Months ago I made a post asking Tig if he could bring back some old vanillas temporarily. Everyone was very excited by the idea, but Tig was not interested, so map crew took it upon themselves to make it happen. Unfortunately there are only 18 maps since some could not be recreated so you might not see them too often.

Just wondering, why was this out of all of my maps permed for P1?
(I'd like to know why so I can use those good qualities from the map which got it permed to make better maps)

Would a map like @6882738 be too "inappropriate" for P5 given the nature of the art? In this map I had wanted to make something that was very dark and depressing, with a lot of symbolism and stuff. I'd just like to know if it's too inappropriate for the game before submitting.

There are a lot of map ideas, but not all of them are really suitable for rotation. The map you mentioned sure is original, but the gameplay just isn't there. It's basically free cheese. Whether you WJ in time and wait until the map is over, or you have to walk the long way to the hole, not too interesting if you ask me. Nonetheless, this map is nice for a one-time gameplay, that pretty much means it's fun to play once, but later becomes uninteresting and/or boring, this may be why this map is P1.

We P1 maps that we like, but it is up to a Map Crew member to bring up maps they think that surpass the P1 value and are suitable and worthy of a higher perm.

As long as it does not promote or encourages illegal activities and the symbolism is not something used in a way to attract some player's disgust or fears (screamers, emetophobia or haemophobia are some common examples). If you're only showing this as a fact and you don't go way deeper in the depression phases, it's totally fine.

No, because I do not keep track of all 20 of the Mapcrew, I'm the crazy map (cat) lady (man), not the crazy Mapcrew stalker, but so I guess that answers it, they're not someone new

It looks like an art map, so submit it to P5. Don't fret too much about which category you should submit a map to in the future though. So long as you don't do something really weird like submit a shaman map to P7, if the map crew member reviewing the category likes your map but thinks it fits in another category, they will put it into discussion for the appropriate category.

Sometimes public mapcrew members will post reviews done by new members in training or private members that don't care to be known to the public.

However I'm pretty sure even still, Mapcrew members can review outside of their skill sets, I've seen it before. Right? I mean it's pretty rare but I've seen Mapcrew who specifically warn that they don't typically review a certain thread however the review needs to get done.
