[Modéré par Shamousey, raison : I'm keeping this thread open since apart from the OP there is a genuine discussion going on here. Just please keep it civil. This thread is for discussing the 1.128 update where maps have a random chance of being reversed in bootcamp, racing and defilante rooms. ] |

While the rant is a bit more hostile than what I would've gone for, it nails a point. The game could've been really good competitively speaking but all these random ninja mechanics updates have made all of us give up on even trying to keep up. Tig's line on the game is way too clear and it's not a one that supports a competitive playerbase. We tried with the record sheet and everything but it's pointless when every other update changes the game mechanics enough to render at least a portion of the records moot. Having to relearn a part of the game mechanics every few months also does not help the case. Edit: Just for the record, I have no problems with the map inversion. A good player should be able to play both ways without a hitch and it does add some flavour to even competitive racing/bootcamping. My problem is with the constant game mechanic changes that aren't even announced. It's really killed competitive playing. Dernière modification le 1421933040000 |

This is taking the players for idiots. Randomly inversing maps forthe sake of adding "new" content is just taking everyon for an idiot, or for a 12 year old child. But as i said, for tig only 12 year old childs play this game anyway |

Let's not forget that Transformice has ran for 2 years with only the support of donators. Neither Tig or Meli got any money out of this game till late 2012 year. Now, even though this rant thread is bit too hostile then it should be, I do somewhat agree to it. This game doesn't really support competitive game play that much anymore. With the introduction of skills and some other game changing mechanics that have been here since 2010, this game is becoming more and more newbie favored. I'm not saying that's a bad thing, but because of this, the older players don't have to put much effort into this game anymore, a lot of us lost the skills we once had that we worked so hard to perfect. Let's take Survivor for example. The hotkeys 1-2-3 made survivor just not so interesting for me, players don't rely on the speed of the hand to press, aim and shoot, but simply pressing 1 and holding the mouse key to fire. Spamming till everyone is dead.. The divine mode is a good update, it does put your skills to some use, but imagine if divine mode existed completely without any skill sets. It would be much harder, only those who had the skill and knowledge of the game would be able to build such long bridges and contraptions.. I personally thing this game is awesome, but it needs to change it's way of development, because as time goes by, you need less and less skill and knowledge of the game to build something spectacular or get a first in racing. I still remember those hard days, when we had to build fast and careful and when everything we did was actually our creativity and everything was unique, when we had to train and learn if we wanted to win against someone. Fight rooms, Survivor, Shamming in regular rooms.. I so darn miss those days it aches.. I am getting used to this new generation of Transformice, but I really wish it was more competitive, more personal skill required Dernière modification le 1421930580000 |

As said before i can understand the rage, if weren't for my friends i'd be out of the game since a year, but not the way the OP put his toughts into words. The decisions about both mechanics and gameplay are oriented to make the game more casual and less hardcore for us "competitive players". Problem is that the changes are too deep to make a u turn e make things as they were My personal regret is that the development of both the gameplay and the moderation is oriented to favo the biggest playerbase (both tr and br) that can brag around and bully the rest of the communities. They let the smaller communities die for good letting players from other communities do whatever they want, favoing, hacking, insulting as they please. I remember last year when it was almost impossible do spam in EN in any other language because you get muted and kindly invited to go to your server. This does not happen anymore into EN (and into the smaller servers) because the main target of that moderation behavour were the biggest playerbase, that apparently is more important than the rest of us. Good thing is that sometimes admins changed things according to our feedback, and that's a huge thing. |

I don't know almost the mayority of bc maps are mirrored, just bc maps. The main problem is that right now the game is umplayable for the vanilla maps bug, everytime a vanilla map starts in normal rooms the map remain the previous and all mice die into nothingness |

I understand how bad this may be for the competitive playerbase but it's clear that the game has always been about just having fun. With all these updates, the skills, the bubbles, divine mode, etc. it should be clear by now that this is the kind of game Tig and Meli want. They do give some sort of support for the competitive players, with updates like the bootcamp points (2012?) and removing consumables from racing and bootcamp rooms. So why complain now? The game's always been like this. This specific update doesn't even mess with the competitive side of the game or your records, it makes things even more interesting as good players should be able to handle mirrored maps. |

Ugh, I'm seriously tired of you ungrateful kids who just love to complain about stuff that don't even matter. Dude, grow up. If you don't like this game, or its moderators/admins, DEAL WITH IT. There's nothing you can do about it, so just chill and play if you want to. If you don't want to play it, just freaking don't, nobody makes you do it, it's your own choice. I'm just tired of seeing people that are not aware how hard the moderators work. I mean, IT'S PRETTY RARE TO FIND A GAME THAT DOESN'T FREAKING BEG YOU FOR MONEY, I MEAN JUST LOOK AT OTHER GAMES AND OFFERS THEY HAVE. And ugh, why do you always put it on Tig? For God's sake, he's not the only one that works for Atelier801, there are a lot of other people, you know. oh and please improve your grammar dude, my eyes hurt. |

patosho a dit : This is exactly why I continue to avoid using any shaman skills apart from extra time. Apparently whenever tig churns one of these updates out he doesn't stop and thing about the fact that 90% of what is in the game today is user-created and the effect said update would have on the user-created content. patosho a dit : Except now apparently custom ground bootcamp maps such as Noexcuses a dit : are apparently broken which is exactly what we needed on top of all the water physics tweaking, wallpush removal and other unasked for physics changes that depermed half the rotation. Huh I haven't came into the game for a while already-- (a while as in a few days due to school) I started back in October 2011. Game, according to my opinion, was pretty difficult, confusing, hilarious AND fun. Back then anvil god maps would cause a lot of excitement, haha. I only started getting competitive in about 2014 though, so I kinda shot up to the 5600th~ rank give or take (that's my rank atm, it may drop) Yes, game may not be as competitive now, but the "fun" value is still there. If you play only for the stats, it would get pretty boring lol I mean, if you don't really like playing the normal games, you can always try out the lua minigames. Still... I do wish game would go back in the past when it wasn't so newbie-relied. Probably because old players aren't playing as much. Just my thoughts, but these new updates are confusing me, I'll have to see them for myself when the weekend comes. |

auroraclears a dit : They shouldn't change the game physics, I can agree with that. The water update also ruined a lot of maps and they had/should have been modified. This update doesn't really changes the physics, a couple bootcamp/racing/mechanism maps could not work properly now, yes, but that's no big deal compared to the other things you mentioned. This is how Tig does things and you all know that. This game is not entirely made for the competitive players and I'd even say they're a minority. Why do people react like the OP if they've been playing all these years and are well aware about that? Xinaug a dit : This "fun" value is what the devs are apparently looking for, not some competitive game where people go crazy about the stats and speedruns. |

patosho a dit : Skills, bubbles, whatever. Doesn't matter for the competitive players. Changing game mechanics constantly on the fly without any kind of announcements or changelogs? Breaking the way bafflua counts times and then never fixing it despite multiple complaints? Constantly changing the way friction works up to a point where no one knows anymore? Those are things that are really really bad. a dit : You need to make a distinction between competitive playing and playing for stats. While the two aren't mutually exclusive, the really competitive playerbase (at least the part of it that I know) never cared for stats so much as to just playing as close to perfection as possible. Especially bootcamp completions, no one ever cared for those as you can get them faster than even cheese, and with less effort at that. Maybe we would've cared a bit if it counted individual map completions instead of total completions. a dit : I can see why racers are really mad about the change. A HUGE part of being good at this game is based on muscle memory, and it applies to racing and bootcamp maps more so than any other game modes. But as I said, I don't mind playing mirrored casually, but I do know I'm not breaking any record times on mirrored maps due to the lack of having that muscle memory in use (and due to not caring enough to tryhard ever since they broke bafflua). However, I'd probably be really irritated if I was racing competitively. For stathoes the change does nothing. In fact, mirrored maps give an advantage to the better players as far as getting firsts and such goes as you should be able to adapt to the maps far faster than the average mouse. I can see how even stathoes can be annoyed at having to randomly flip their brain around at the start of maps though. All in all the whole mirroring business is just a dumb change that causes confusion and annoyance, nothing else. And it feels really really cheap. Also, something was definitely changed as far as game mechanics go too in the past week or two. I've already seen a bunch of jumps being made that weren't possible in the past. pinkyxxxx a dit : I am just saying that this game could be way better if tig/atelier801 stopped only caring about getting new players and trying every possible thing to extend the content of this game (for new players). It's a waste. I was angry in my statement because it really just feels that they are taking this game's community for idiots. Like, inversing all maps 50% of the time to add new content? really? this is just useless.. We were speaking 2 days ago about this new graphics on the tchat (the wood theme thing) being incomplete. They could AT LEAST fix that before anything else. It just gives the feeling they don't give a shit about this game And for the grammar, sorry, i'm french. Dernière modification le 1421941500000 |
