On hard mode or normal mode you would not need the balloons or the box used in that video, which further proves my point that divine mode is still the more difficult mode even with skills.

If that's too much of a hassle for you, you could always spam it with arrow anchors and then tape it. These extra steps do not add nearly enough difficulty to warrant being a successor to hard mode.

No_0ne a dit :
And while some vanilla maps are indeed hard to complete, the simple ones are by far the majority.

I was meaning that P4 maps are very simple and easy, save for maybe one or two maps (just like vanilla).

No_0ne a dit :

How is using building techniques that you are fully in your right to use, considered taking the cheap way out?

With these two skills it is unnecessary to learn how to make a v build. You can play divine mode and earn all its titles whilst building using only makeshift hardmode/easymode tactics.

The main difference between hardmode and divine mode is that in hardmode your main objective is to prevent your build from flipping over (rotating). In divine mode, you must not only stop the rotation of your build itself, but every single object you spawn. This is where restorative comes in and ruins the challenge: it not only makes it impossible for the attached object to rotate, but almost everything it's connected to as well as long as the weight isn't obscenely undistributed. Restorative single handedly ruins both the challenges of divine mode, and even hardmode.

Big plank is about 133% the size of a large plank, and you have unlimited of them. This means that just by having the big plank skill, the amount of building you must do is about 2/3 regardless of what mode you're in.

You could have a shaman with only big plank and restorative, and another shaman with every other skill in the game. And shaman #1 would build faster and more stably than shaman #2 100% of the time, with a less complex build that requires almost no actual support.

Combine these two skills togther and you can:

1: build 33% less
2: build substantially faster
3: build in a fashion that is nearly impossible to destroy, even with say, 100 anvils falling on it (sound like easy mode?)

All this using only 2 of the 75 skills in the game.

http://img.atelier801.com/d824f189.gif

This is cheap and overpowered. This is b planks in divine mode.

Divine mode announcement a dit :
To unlock the divine mode, you'll need to have saved at least 5000 mice in regular mode and 2000 in hard mode. But be warned: in divine mode there are no more red nails or yellow nails.

No more yellow or red nails, but you have a slew of things to achieve the exact same result!

I don't normally use divine mode so I wouldn't really have an opinion on this, but Force_shaman has a good point.

So if the admins decided to add flying as a feature in the game you'd support the change?

As long as it's an in-game feature it is absolutely legitimate to use and therefore not classed as cheating. No matter how much you think differently.

Just quoting the official post, "Aaaah, it will be a whole new level of difficulty!"

Like, did you guys even read this srsly
"Well, indeed you've become so pro that she's decided to raise the bars even higher!"
And what is pro about placing 2 12 ft. planks and taping them in place?

divine is being way too easy with these 2 skills.

For example 1 restorative is more than enough to keep your whole build stable and you have 4 more of it as well.
Restorative is like a plank with 3 red nails on it.
With restorative you don't even have to connect the planks. As long as something prevents it from being pushed away and the angle is right you can build using planks, something that prevents them from being moved away like an anvil and restorative only. (Hmm that should be a fun mode a mode where you cannot use any nails).

Big planks are just what the name says. A big plank that only needs 2 or 3 of them to finish a build in most maps.

while i wouldn't oppose this, some skills are nice to have to help in divine that aren't as op as these 2 skills, such as the faster/bigger spawn time/range, and they already did put limits on certain skills rather than remove them completely. it's far more likely that they'd remove certain skills than all skills altogether for divine

Force_Shaman a dit :
Removing all skills isn't exactly something i'd be opposed to, but it's not exactly necessary either. As long as the most powerful skills are removed (ie the ones in this thread) then the challenge remains about the same.

Of course this only goes as far as a building perspective and people will always be able to get a few free saves with heart etc.

Also (I'm not sure how much weight this holds) i've heard rumors float around of a possible new mode that will disable skills entirely. This would be possibly the best thing shaman has seen in transformice in years, the only downsides being what vedae pointed out (skills like fast summon and spawn range increase would not be available).

Reason:
People can use it, no matter what time they can, they can still use it even if your opinion is to remove it.

Just gonna copy pasta some parts of my thread which got closed down:

Conspect: Divine mode is a mode that was released in 2014 May and to be claimed as one of the hardest modes in-game. But, with the 2 new skills trees making their way, the divine mode has simply lost its meaning of being one of the hardest modes. (More specifically thanks to physicist skill tree)

The compromise: Surely enough im pretty sure that im bound to expect no supports with people crying that the mode will become significantly harder by removing those two essential skills from divine mode. Therefore i am sugesting a compromise that there would be added more possibly earnable titles up to...lets say twice as more divine mode saves (80000, one title per 10k).

also ofc im supporting this (kind of surprised i couldnt fid my support there, but now i am :) )

Like Force_Shaman said at the begging of the page, by just using those two skills, you basically have b planks in divine mode.

With most games, gameplay gets more difficult as you progress, as you find more difficult areas/features to play with.. but in TFM, playing the game gets EASIER, as you get access to skills that make any mode easy mode (unless you never learned how to play). I agree that TFM should be accessible for every level of player (we have normal mode for that), but I disagree that saves in the "more difficult" modes should be given to players just for knowing how to attach tape/restorative (practically a b-nail) onto a few big planks. Currently, levels and divine saves give no indication on a player's true abilities, as it is very easy to farm these with skills.

Here is my proposal:

    EITHER

  • Remove Big Plank and Restorative (tape) from divine mode on all p4 / p8 maps

  • OR

  • Create a 4th shaman mode to indicate true divine-building skill. You already have BC stats and Racing stats to show us who the best jumpers are; why not one for the best builders?
    • The fourth mode would activate only on p4 building maps
    • V / J / N nails only
    • All skills except these would be allowed:
      • Spiritual Guide: Teleporter, Bouncy Ball (because balls become OP trampolines), Spring
      • Wildling: Go Through There
      • Physicist: Restorative (Tape), Gravitational Anomaly, Big Plank, Booster
