Hi my friends, could any of you, especially if you review P4 and P8 send me a private message telling me more details about [@1927550] why it has been rejected? I really would like to work on this “new” concept and make it play in public rooms ❤️ Btw, does anyone know the codes of those night mode shaman and coop maps? I wanted to check something. Foslii_is_dead a dit : Hi, while I'm not a member of the mapcrew, I do have a lot of experience in P8, P4, and just general map making, so i thought I'd look at your map, it's pretty good but there are some things I'd recommend changing. This is an image of some changes I think you should make ![]() First, acid grounds are brand new, you're being very bold with their use, and while I do like how youre using them, keep in mind if a mouse makes a single mistake they die, so first what youre gonna want to do is give as much room as possible for error. For starters, as you can see in the image I've edited the shaman spawn so it and the ground it stands on are much higher, this is because if the shaman runs right they die instantly. I also edited one of the acid grounds out and replaced it with grass, I think there's not enough room to run around freely, so it'd be nice to see more room on it. Remember, you want as much room for error as you can, in P4 and P8 it's not the same as room shaman, people suck, so baby them, not too much but it can't be too hard. Another thing you can see is red x's over the shaman objects prespawned in, the point of these is to indicate the acid ground are dynamic, I actually really like the fact they're dynamic, but the shaman items hella get in the way. So how do you indicate they're dynamic without anything getting in the way? Simple, nails. <C><P /><Z><S><S L="752" H="284" X="384" Y="461" T="0" P="0,0,0.3,0.2,0,0,0,0" /><S X="549" L="70" H="90" c="3" v="1000" Y="219" T="14" P="1,0,0.3,0.2,0,1,0,0" /><S L="118" H="102" X="604" Y="222" T="0" P="1,999999,0.3,0.2,0,1,9999,9999" /></S><D /><O><O C="22" Y="220" P="0" X="549" /></O></Z></C> This is an XML that shows off how you can add some nails to those grounds without adding any other grounds, simply add a glitched wood ground, it's T value will be 14, this grounds special as it will be invisable yet still nailable, then in the same tag, add a vanish tag to it, this way a nail can latch onto it in the 1,2,3, timer. Make sure tho that the vanishing ground has LESS of a Z value than the acid grounds. Otherwise the nail itself will disappear. Other than that I'd also make the right acid ground -45 degrees so that it stays consistent with the other grounds, just looks nicer imo, and move that acid ground down so again mice running on the top right grass don't die if they run too far left and happen to clip into the acid ground. Thanks for your feedback, Chris, I really appreciate it. Someone from map crew DM'ed me and said it has been rejected mostly because of the concept itself. Since it's relatively new using acid grounds, they want a simpler use of them. The shamans usually have troubles to understand what to do with the sticky grounds and I like your suggestion to make it clearer. Also, the bottom is quite narrow, so I would really have to make more space on it. The collidable/non collidable distinction makes it kinda confusing as well. I will, later, make a new version of this map. I will probably make a single shaman (P4) version first because I believe it will be very messy for two shamans dealing with such an acid sticky ground. Cobwebs, acid... The last new grounds tfm offered us are way too difficult to make such an amazing concept. I am not an active map maker anymore, this is my first map in like two years. In the past, I once asked some map crew members to be less strict while reviewing maps with such grounds because they should be playing more in rooms. People has to know about it's existence. I believe rotation still plays like 1000+ maps each category. And it still lacks on having webs, for example, which has been ben released like 3 years ago. I am not saying this because my map has been rejected. I largely agree it can be very messy and that's why I will edit it next time I login again. It's just a suggestion for a map maker or map crew that reads this post: please make more maps with this stuff, submit it and don't be very critical if it's playable enough. <3 |
