As I said. I think you didn't read carefully. It is an English speaking server. What's the point of insisting on playing in E2 while there is already one public.

Because the majority of English speaking users are on E2.

Yeah. Actually I want something like your suggestion because I'm not from USA or England but I study English Language Teachering in my country. But I think It is impossible in these conditions.

Haruhitastic a dit :

And as well, why should someone, like Yogi for instance, be forced to play on a server they don't regularly go to just because of the fact that they've moved elsewhere? That's highly unfair.

You could also turn it around. Why should Atelier801 implement these kind of changes just because a player independently decides to move to a different country? I don't understand how you can call that unfair. Surely you can't expect Atelier801 to take into account such specific situations?

Haruhitastic a dit :

How will it be too much work? As I said, it'd be no different from moderator applications -- you read it, you accept or deny them. You're on the forum anyway so why will it matter to take an extra... what, two minutes out of your day, to read an application?
It's not like you'll be getting THOUSANDS of applications a day.

I think you're highly underestimating how much time and effort these things take to set up and maintain. That's all I have to say.

Considering I just went through a Helpers app session, I may have a slight idea? :p

Depends. Do they want money or not? :B If they don't want to alienate a player who has regularly played E2 and can no longer play there with their friends, on a game that's highly social...

And yes, I can expect them to because they should know their community better and think about the fact these things can happen. If a lowly user who doesn't have access to the information and analytics can think of something like this, administrators who want to be in touch with their community definitely should.
I don't want to really derail the thread further, so you're free to PM me if you care to continue.

Mm I don't think it's too impossible, especially with all these staff supporting and willing to take part in such a program.

After a talk with Shamousey, the title has been changed and this idea can be applied to all communities (however, the suggestion still has E2 in mind ^^)

I think Yogi was just one example to get a point across, not that it's a specific situation to one person that Atelier 801 should cater to. As mentioned on the last page there's a lot of Romanians in Spain who can't talk, there's also people who speak Japanese but aren't in Japan, fluent English speakers in Brasil, etc. It's something that's affected a lot of people globally, not a single person and not just a single community.

I think a big point here was mentioned in the last post, this whole game is extremely social, people use it to talk and learn about other cultures and it's international with a lot of different language speakers all around the world. Sure there are inconvenient ways around it for users like playing on another server or using proxies, but there could definitely be some support for these users.

I can definitely see a big difference between this and staff applications - there would be a lot more people applying for a whitelist (due to no age restriction and such), although it'd also take a lot less time to judge, most of the time it's clear if a sentence is put through a translator or genuinely written by someone, and it's not like there'd have to be much thought put into that considering they can be removed from the whitelist and potentially sanctioned, just like any other user speaking the wrong language in excess on these communities.

I guess this could work, just that it could be relatively taxing on our moderation teams.

/support, I've seen far too many people who speak English better than the majority of the E2 children, that can't speak on the server solely because of their ip.

I like the idea, but what if it's for some reason too hard to implement?
Anyway, support.

If you would be so kind as to read through the other pages, you'll see where I explained how it could work.

Supporting as someone who is able to speak English fluently, but isn't allowed to speak on the E2 server due to IP restriction.
