Polygamy is a criminal offense in most countries that contribute to the player base. You can give it a different name and say this suggestion isn't about polygamy, but having multiple soulmates is insinuating the same thing and thus shouldn't be encouraged. If you really like someone you shouldn't need a label to confirm it.

I do agree that it seems odd or even repulsive to some people to have multiple soulmates, but what if you could still only have one soulmate but also have a few (Maybe 1-3) good friends on your profile, which would be listed as something else, rather than soulmate. Your original soulmate would still get the honor they deserve, and it would be a cool way for friends to pay a tribute to one another. They would still have to be asked before someone could put them on their profile though, like a soulmate.

Polygamy! For kids! This and many reasons stated before I do not support.
